Re: Can't Guard Mike
Mike Thomas was totally betting on himself by taking $10 million guaranteed and up to $5 million in additional incentives, when any other sane team would have guaranteed him only like $4-6 million given his injury history. He was betting on himself to have a pulse. A lot of other players who have not been healthy for 3 years would love to bet on themselves with $10 million guaranteed, the incentives are just icing on the cake but its still a great contract for Mike even if he doesn't earn $1 in incentives.

Re: Can't Guard Mike
I wonder if he’s answering his phone this time when the team calls?

Re: Can't Guard Mike
Draft his eventual replacement.
No one knows his status at the moment except Mike. He's an older player, ankle & toe injuries are tricky & the body doesn't recover as fast + he hasn't played organized football in some time. It is what it is. Shaheed, Bryan and some of the other guys could use those reps anyhow. |

Slowly getting additional reps until he's ready. Fingers crossed. |

Re: Can't Guard Mike
Healthy or not, draft another WR.
There will be games in 2023 where our #1WR gets locked down & other guys have to make plays and move the chains. That Dallas game up here from a few years ago comes to mind. Once they (Marinelli & Kris Richard) game planned & put the clamps on MT, it was a wrap. No one else could make a play. Yep, there is always the draft. |

As Sigler points out here if Thomas wasn't on track to be back and healthy the Saints wouldn't have brought him back. |
