Will Levis reportedly plummeting down draft boards

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; What exactly has he done at Kentucky again? He’s potentially a walking pick 6 in the NFL. Color me unimpressed....

I watched his pro day throws and I wasn’t blown away. He’s big and strong though. If he wants a Taysom Hill type role he could play in the league. Not sure he’d last as a passer. Then again, what do I know.

As far as college production Hooker is the guy I like.

Nah. we've already invested heavily in Derek Carr and I don't expect a top draft pick at QB. If Hooker is there in the third then heck yes!

If he makes it to us maybe we get an offer to trade back and pick up an extra day two pick.

I know we are. We can't help ourselves. On the flip side, we struggle with depth after giving away picks in the draft each year. It's a vicious cycle with no end in sight. We need better depth and maybe that should come from the draft. Just sayin".

I think we had decent depth, but several of them suffered injuries, as well. Honestly, there aren't enough good players in the world to go three deep at every position without major drop-offs in ability. It's even getting tough to have top quality starters at every position across the league.

That's a reason to grow the game across the globe and increase the potential player pool. They need solid farm leagues to develop players.

We only looked like we had decent depth Guido. If we are unable to start our players due to the inordinate amount of annual injuries then we need better depth. We can't continue to sustain these devastating injuries or we need better depth. Something has to go. I would suggest trading up less and using those mid round picks to develop into back up roles and eventual starters.

So, we had decent depth last year, and as you say injuries happen across the league, but then why do they happen more to us? And if not more often than other teams then why is our depth so shallow? I'll tell you why? We only draft five players a year. There is no competition at the back end of the roster, fighting for a spot. We keep drafting like we're one player away but in reality we are several supporting players away from having decent depth to make a playoff run.

The USFL will help with that a bit. But yeah they really should've stuck with NFL Europe. It would've paid off.
