Should we? - Supplemental Draft Version

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Twitter Draft: Jackson State WR Malachi Wideman and Purdue WR Milton Wright. Would you use a 2024 draft pick on any of these players? I say ... not no, but hell no....

Re: Should we? - Supplemental Draft Version

Wide receiver is not a position of need. Even with MT expected to be reinjured we have depth at receiver and AT as a a project. If there had been a guard or linebacker or something worthy of a 6th round pick I would say yes, because if we draft 1 player with the 1 pick today, Loomis can’t use it to trade up later and get less picks.

Rather surprising the Jackson St WR didn't follow Deon to CU. That must mean he sucks.

I agree with bako that picking one of these guys would be a mistake.

Re: Should we? - Supplemental Draft Version

Two players? That is not much of a supplemental draft to choose from. Let's keep the draft picks and let the scouts find players who fit the system. Besides, I think that our WR room is strong enough to finally push 3Q off the roster. I don't hate the guy, but his spot should hold more value than a blocker with some potential who has been in the Saints system for several years now but can't stay healthy or be clutch when his number is called.

Let's see what Perry or Shaq has to offer before we send off another draft pick.
