I can somewhat see the perspective from each of those points, but the amount of emotional investment is something I can’t relate to. Not in the instance of a fight. It’s all too common for me to see a fight go from 1 on 1 to 1 vs 5 or 3 vs 3 in an instant. It just doesn’t move the needle for me or any of the people around me. It’s truly on the opposite end of the spectrum in regards to perspective on the situation. As far as him getting off easy because he’s an athlete, I’m not really bothered by that either. At that point it would just be jealousy on my part. We all know the rules change depending on socioeconomic status, race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. The court decisions involving athletes is at the very bottom of my equality/equity totem pole.

Fair enough. I understand and respect both viewpoints. Certainly his actions don’t amount to what Sharper’s actions were. Plus I’ll be the first to say that football is by its nature a violent sport. It’s not surprising that the people who play it at the highest level have a sense of violence in them.

Look I get some people don’t care. Some people care more than others. It’s just hard for me to get behind and cheer for any person who does something like this.

I really don’t understand why that’s hard for some to comprehend. I think most good people are more willing to cheer for a person that has a similar character as themselves. Similar moral compass.

That’s why many people enjoy watching shows that depict someone overcoming overwhelming odds or cheering for the underdog. “Good guys vs bad guys.”

I’m well aware that’s there many wolves in sheep clothing. The person who raises money for charity is a wife beating POS. The guy that is friendly and popular is a child abuser.

That being said, it’s always hard for me to get behind a person when something like this happens. I know it’s not the absolute worst thing players or people in general have done. But it’s so disappointing that it makes it hard for me to cheer for them.

I don’t put many players on a pedestal or assume them to be “role models.” But I certainly don’t think there’s anything wrong with no longer having the same view of anyone, when they do something that crosses the line of moral or ethical behavior. That line could be closer or farther away for some people or maybe even nonexistent for others. Everyone has their own place for that line.

Some people don’t give a **** about what players do on or off the field. I do. Especially when it’s a player on my favorite team.

I was fine with AK giving him a beat down. The instigator literally got what he asked for. After he punched him several times AK got up and then his friends knocked out the newest member of the millionaire club with a curb stomp.....which is unforgivable. Where I have a big problem is listening to the thug mentality he had when he was bragging in the video to his posse. I lost a ton of respect for him but maybe he can gain it back. It's time for AK to find new friends like someone said earlier.

I for one wish Kamara hadn't gotten involved with the guy. He should have just backed off when his buddy threw the first punch. But he didn't. At least he backed off before the, as Rugs put it, curb stomping commenced. All said and done what he did do was wrong and he came completely clean on it. The fact that he had an impeccable record and had never had any issues with the law his whole life means something to me and likely meant something to the judge, as well. Good people make bad decisions everyday.

I understand that some people cannot let an isolated incident go. For the life of me I can't however understand why. I guess some people are wired differently. Now that this event is in the rearview mirror Kamara remains one of my very favorite Saints players of all time and I'll still proudly keep his jersey in my gameday rotation. Although, I am still hoping to get that Guido Merkens #19 jersey for my upcoming birthday. :D

The last sentence is the biggest thing for me. It’s a gladiator sport and sometimes those characteristics can manifest off the field. If they manifest in domestic violence then I’m not okay with that. If they manifest in a random fight at a club/venue I don’t really care. I will say boxing is probably my second favorite sport or at least tied with basketball. Kamara didn’t cross the line for me. The curb stomp was unnecessary. The bragging afterwards is typical male, machismo.

Maybe it was male, machoism. Regardless, it was disappointing to hear someone that I thought so highly of reduce himself to a bragging hooligan. I forgive the man but I see him differently now. Not much. But a little differently. I still think he's a great player and team mate. Let's remember that the team also had to pay for his indiscretions by bringing in another player to cover his snaps while he is on suspension. Oh well, it's history and the future looks bright.:cool:

I’m a little glad it forced them to seriously address RB. We’re always better when we’re two and three deep at that position. I guess we have to take into consideration I think I’m considerably younger than a lot of the members of the board. I can’t say I wouldn’t get into a fight and be bragging about it later. 😂

Also, I totally agree bout forcing the Saints to pay attention to the running back room. AK is probably playing on his last contract with the Saints. I know he wants to retire a Saint like Cam but I don't see it happening. He's too expensive.

I agree with most of this rez. I will say one more thing though and finish my piece. You mention you are not Ok with domestic violence. I agree and respect you for saying that.

Kamara was put into a stressful, non-life threatening (probably not even injury threatening considering it was 5 or 6 to one) situation and he chose to resort to excessive violence. A person who would be part of that is more likely to have an issue with domestic violence than a person who would have used restraint.

I think we should. Players look at things like that when deciding where they want to be. Showing loyalty to players that have earned it is a good thing in my book.
