It's probably just me but his body language has been bad the last two games. Show more effort.

In the previous play, the QB walked into the endzone on Foskey's edge.

Baldy with a quick breakdown of Jake Haener.

FWIW, he looks way better than Ian Book as a rookie. His mechanics, awareness, composure & touch (dropped td pass by Edwards & Krull :rolleyes:).

2 drops, 1 called back & Jake throwing rainbows. Doesn't get much better than that. I'd like to see him start the last pre season game. At this point, we know what Winston is.

Solid showing for Jake.

Here is an observation for you regarding the media. Now, I’ll fully say the Saints had too many penalties and need to clean up things. However, I’m seeing a common theme in the coverage…basically it’s the Chargers D is awesome and the Saints are sloppy. Here I example:

Now this could be true, but didn’t the Saints D force turnovers, punts, Sacks, and 4th down stops? Didn’t they win the game? It’s just noteworthy that they write positive things about the team that lost while writing neagtively about the winners.

I don't believe "targeting" is an automatic ejection in the NFL as it is in NCAA ball.

NFL targeting rules by the book

There isn’t officially a “targeting” rule in the NFL rulebook. Rather, they have a lowering the helmet rule. For the 2022 season, that rule was clarified in the name of player safety to say, “It is a foul if a player lowers his head and makes forcible contact with his helmet against an opponent.” The addition of the “forcible” to the rule from previous years puts it much more in the line of targeting as we know it.

Is a player ejected for targeting in the NFL?

There is no mandatory ejection for this type of penalty in the NFL. Punishment is typically handed out after a review of the play/penalty by the league following the game and it is more likely that a fine will be handed out rather than a suspension, though that is possible. Depending on the play, a player can be ejected, though. It is up to the discretion of the officials.

NFL targeting rules vs. college football

The biggest difference between the NFL and college football when it comes to proverbial targeting rules (other than the terminology, as mentioned) is the ejection. While ejections are up for discretion in the NFL, that is not the case if, after review, a player is deemed to have committed a targeting foul. If that happens, the player is ejected and suspended for the next half (if it occurs in the first half of a game, he will only miss the second half).

Foskey said in his post-draft interview, that there's no better player to learn from than Cam Jordan.

If a player is still learning, you can excuse miscues as they grow but he looks bored and dejected out there.

Something that absolutely won't be excused is poor effort and I hope DA is making sure of that.

An example, I know Junior Galette ended here on very bad terms, but can anyone remember him in Preseason as a rookie?

He literally never stopped running, going after QB's, chasing bubble screens, chasing ball carriers. And it showed, because come gameday in 2013, if Cam didn't get you, Galette did.

Foskey really needs to step up, at this stage, Lalos definitely deserves a roster spot over Foskey.

Almost like the Pierre Thomas / Antonio Pittman preseason.

Maybe I have missed some info, or insight from others, but what are the chances for the Merriweather kid at RB? I think he’s looked pretty decent so far, has a pretty crowded position group, but maybe as a special teaser or practice squad body.
