Peat might also be a surprise IR candidate. He played his average number of snaps between injuries Sunday and he missed the other two preseason games.

Lattimore injured through camp, Alontae not playing well, Adebo having a down year last year and they flat release Roby?!?

Media even reported teams were looking to trade for him, but no, Saints just make it easier for teams to grab our talent.

Jaylon Smith too, we'll miss having him when Pete or Demario go down.

That's why I hear several NFL Radio hosts call it the "first" 53 roster. That's a good description.

My guy Blake G rookie season was top notch then started to
shank em at camp, subsequent pre season games.

Special teams is a critical piece to the puzzle, so there’s that.

I’m just a couch coach but I hope Lalos returns (p/s).

The biggest head scratcher is Throckmartin. Knows the system and is very capable. Roby too.

Throckmorton should make the practice squad and be eligible for call ups. Not much room on the 53. Not sure about the Roby deal other than we have tons of depth at DB.

My guess is that after the first 53 are submitted we'll see Tre'Quan placed on IR designated to return and Jaylon Smith added back to the roster in his place. We'll end up carrying six WR's on the 53 man roster as we have for the past several years.

Probably not much effect this year but it will help in 2024 and 2025. Veterans who earn above minimum we convert any above minimum salary to a guaranteed bonus but next year we we wont have to pay these guys above minimum.

The full 2023 draft class has made the "first" 53 for the first time since 2017. Great draft!
