I think the refs want to completely eliminate instant replay. They dont care about getting the call right, in fact they pride themselves in their power to get it wrong. So they let the call stand on replay even though replay clearly showed the call was wrong. Now they can produce stats that show most calls are not reversed on replay, and try to exclude more critical plays from instant replay. All to lower our sensitivity to bad calls, so when playoff season comes they can get those big checks for helping out the large markets.

Its kind of the classic thing. Turf is like cigarettes. So if the turf salesmen want to keep pushing it they have to add filters and menthol and buy a doctor to say its healthy now. So of course every years model is going to be new and improved so the teams that don't do something about turf can keep claiming they are doing something about turf.
