This why I don't like leveraging the cap to the max. I am not sure we have options for an unexpected situation like this. I think Carr could plausibly demand an extension and if we say no, we could plausibly default on the 2024 salary cap and be unable to sign any draft picks and get fined millions.

Get over this crap, Bako. It never ends. Losing is bad enough but then to have to come in here and see your same tired rhetoric makes me want to throw up. Nothing personal, but it gets really old.

I'll be there in the dome as we move to 3-1. Much to your chagrin, I am sure.

That was not an answer to my question, because there isn't an answer. The dirty truth behind Mickeynomics post-Brees with 100% leverage is that if a big contract goes south, we have no out. Especially Carr. He has all the leverage. I always said that was a bad idea, and you can't expect not to hear it.

Also, I seem to recall the Jets losing a QB earlier this year. And they didn't have a lead. And their backup is worse. And they were playing a much better opponent. But their head coach and OC, those guys are better. And so they won. So yeah, you can weather a shock. You can still win. But you need a leader. Dennis Allen is lieutenant, a solid DC. He ain't a leader. He is what would have happened to the Jets if Hackett was the head coach in that game not the OC.
