Re: Observations from the Saints win vs Bears
At least on paper, this game was a throwback to the shaky wins of the Gregg Williams era. Allow lots of yards and get them turnovers! Adebo for head coach, GM and possibly major of New Orleans!

Re: Observations from the Saints win vs Bears
-A win.
-Leading the division. -Adebo with a huge game. -Hill is arguably the Saints MVP. -Schedule moving forward isn't brutal. -Good to see Johnson involved. -Peat looks to be in his best shape as a Saint. -Created 5 turnovers. -Created 5 turnovers and won by 7. -Grupe with an "important " kick miss. -The inability to close out games with opportunities right in front of you. -Saints 5 wins have came against teams with a combined 11-30 record. -Outside of Hill the run game is struggling. -I ain't sad. 😁 |

Maybe forgotten about, but Isaac Yiadom had a monumental play to knock the punt out of the endzone and out of bounds in the 4th quarter.
Think that set up either a punt or turnover. |

Re: Observations from the Saints win vs Bears
* Chicago was running the ball the way we should, without a ton of hesitation in the backfield.
* Offence is borderline atrocious. Usually I can understand what type of gameplan the OC has IE run to open up the pass, work the underneath stuff by threatening deep and so on. I don't see anything cohesive on offence right now. Its like somebody picked a bunch of random plays and formations and just threw them together. * We don't win the game without Adebo and Hill. * Actually decent protection today. * Defence is opportunistic but gives up way to much yards to a rookie QB running. * Bresee batting that ball was huge. It seems like he has a flash play most every game. * We had no business trying to run the ball on 4th and short, we don't have a line right now that generates that type of push. * I am happy we won. Much rather be 5-4 than 4-5. * I am almost more happy that the Falcons lost. **** 'em! |
W.T. Sherman is my favorite General. After all he did order Atlanta to be burned to the ground.

Re: Observations from the Saints win vs Bears
Firstly, very glad to get a win…feels good.
This defense reminds me of a Greg Williams defense. Not dominant but gets turnovers. Unfortunately those turnovers go to a offense that’s not led by Brees, but instead a boring offense that struggles to put up points. Hopefully stacking a couple wins builds confidence and we can continue to improve, but this is still currently not a team that’s performing to go far in the playoffs, and that’s the goal, right? But hooray for first place in the division. We still need improvement. We barely beat a 2-6 team. Not trying to be a Debbie downer after a win, I’m just a realist. I love my Saints and I want to win it all again, just don’t see it as of now. I love the talent on this team too. Again, feels good to get a win |

Re: Observations from the Saints win vs Bears
Positives:
• Offensive line play has been better. 0 sacks today. First time all year. • Derek Carr with back to back 70%+ games. He’s far from perfect, but he’s slightly above average thus far. • Taysom Hill continues to make good plays at the right time. • Paulson Adebo was grading out at 75.7 on PFF before this game. He’s quietly having a great year. • The defense made some good adjustments in the 2nd half. I guess they read the forums because I called for them to play more zone and QB contain and that worked. Keep the rookie in the pocket and see if he can beat you. As we see, he couldn’t. • Isaac Yiadom has made huge plays on both special teams and on defense. He was a great free agent pick up. Negatives: • Blake Grupe and Lou Hedley were horrible decisions. They both need to be replaced. • The offense and defense have to find a way to get in sync and be successful at the same time. These slows starts are going to bite us in the ass. • Coaching continues to be poor and it’s not improving. If anything the players are just overcoming the coaching deficiencies. • Kamara, Thomas, and Shaheed aren’t utilized as often as they should be. This goes back to coaching. • Zack Baun should never touch the field on defense. We signed Corey Littleton. If you want a third LB on the field play him. Baun is trash. • We need a pass rusher opposite of Granderson but Loomis made no efforts for Sweat or Young. There’s no reason to have all these “bigger” defensive lineman if we can’t shut down the run. This is why running QB’s continue to give us fits. We have no speed on the line and only two linebackers on the field 90% of the time. Glad for the win. I’m not any more optimistic than I was before the game. Happy to be 1st place in the NFC South for now. This is going to be a week to week situation. |

Re: Observations from the Saints win vs Bears
Grupe needs to go.
DA bet on the wrong horses at kicker and Punter, and lost in both cases. Grupe cannot handle it when the kick matters, he's proven that twice now. |

Re: Observations from the Saints win vs Bears
Good news, we won. Atlanta lost. Tampa lost.
This team would be dead WITHOUT Taysom Hill. Bad - Dennis still makes poor in game coaching decisions. Special teams Better bring in a new kicker tryouts. When you face real competition in post season, Grupe is gonna cost you from advancing. He’s already hurt you in two games this season. You aren’t gonna keep squeaking by bad teams with inexperienced QBs each week. I’m on to Minneapolis 🫡. |
