Re: Saints vs Lions Gameday Chat
Actually the Lions could be a model for the Saints in another way. Maybe if we are bad enough, some of our players will retire and help us with the salary cap mess Mickey Loomis has got us in by pulling a Barry Sanders or Calvin Johnson. I know our front office and coaching staff don't mind losing at all, but maybe some players who are nearing retirement do.

Re: Saints vs Lions Gameday Chat
Carr retiring would be a best case scenario but given the money on the table I doubt it happens. But if some players from the following list retired it could help force the teams hand on rebuilding versus 'win now' illusions: Thomas, Peat, Kamara, Ramczyk, Davis, Jordan, Mathieu, or Hill. Obviously Kamara and Hill still have it but so did Sanders and Johnson, and a concussion plus the saints issues could force their hand especially if they have a concussion or something, which would not be surprising with Carr's hospital balls. Ramczyk rests a lot and could retire early like Turley which might force a rebuild. Jordan and Davis have already proven all they can so if they don't want to force a trade to a contender or grind it out for a hopeless cause, retirement could make sense.
