THE CHIEFS WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR.
I have a sneaky suspicion that, in the mega-billion dollar ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY that pro football is a part of, the theatrical production that involves Taylor Swift has been designed and is being manipulated to draw a larger fan base into the NFL loop. The merger of “Pop” Music and “Pro Sports” and commercial advertising has never had such a golden opportunity at crowd control, or mind control, as it is having right now, and it is playing out right in front of our eyes.
The old geezers who miss the good old days of hard knocks muddy and ugly football, are dying out, and no longer part of a relevant targeted market demographic. The game is changing to reflect that. It is becoming more and more attractive to the “Swifties”, who are all too eager to swipe their credit cards and tune into whatever new hype and hypnosis is being orchestrated. It’s a brilliant business model that molds minds and sells product, well outside the fields we are observing. It’s no wonder that other teams exist simply to support this orchestration. The auto industry is not returning to Detroit, so the Lions will play little more than a convincing supporting role in this theatrical production. Baltimore is not going to be making any revolutionary headlines anytime soon, so they will be strong contenders for “best supporting actor” in this screenplay. All the gold is gone in San Francisco, so they too will fall. Kansas City is middle America and Mahomes has been a Media golden boy for some time already, so Kelce and Swifty blowing kisses at each other, is prime time Disney Channel material, that the entire game has manipulated and maneuvered the audience to be captivated by. I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong, and welcome all the criticism possible for my rant, but seeing my beloved Saints slowly sink into a swamp of obscurity (by design), has forced me to look at this whole “game” in a radically different manner. Every flag thrown, every bad call, missed call, stupid coaching decision, points spread, press conference, all of it… scripted. It’s just business. Rant Over. Let’s see what happens… |
Re: THE CHIEFS WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR.
I have been predicting the Chiefs to win it all too, but not because the league is scripted. Mahomes is just a winner. He is a Bradshaw, Montana, Brady type. You have a coach who won 2 super bowls, a QB who won 2 super bowls, their best defense ever, an improved running game, and you just need that QB to make it work with diminished receiver, but their rookie WR is finally starting to produce. Its just logical they should be the favorite.
Then in the rest of the league you have playoff choke artists galore. Josh Allen is another Boomer Esiason, Jim Kelly, Tony Romo, Matt Ryan type who always loses in the playoffs. Dak Prescott and Lamar Jackson are the same. Brock Purdy disappeared in the NFCCG last year and got hurt with his small frame, I mean perhaps he turns it around since he has less of a track record to hold against him, but probably not. Jalen Hurts actually player well enough to win it all last year, but the Eagles went cold. Matt Stafford and Sean McVay were the only other championship duo but Stafford is very old now and they snuck into the playoffs on a rebuild. Goff has previously choked in the playoffs and should never have made a big game. And then you had Love and Stroud who were effectively rookies. Don't take it as a script if KC wins. Take it as the only team with a good playoff QB in his prime won, which is usually what happens. Does NFL marketing like it that Kelce and Swift are dating? Sure. But that does not mean that any World Series the Yankees won who DiMaggio was dating or married to Marilyn Monroe was fixed. Celebrities and Athletes date. Also KC is not a great market. If the whole relationship was fixed they would want Swift to date a coastal teams star. Officiating in the NFL is biased but the touchback call that went against KC was rough. The officials hate certain teams that defied their authority and will do favors for certain prime markets but that does not make the season scripted. KC has a good chance to win because their QB is a winner. He won it all last season with a high ankle sprain or whatever and JuJu as his #1 receiver. |

Good points and a valid perspective. I am much more of a Conspiracy Realist. Celebrities and Athletes dating has been part of a script long before the general public began to notice that celebrities and athletes are indeed the same thing. We have been “programmed” for at least as long as TV “programming” has existed. Now it comes to us from all angles, and we can barely escape it. The general public is being priced out and driven away from the coastal regions, but that’s an entirely different discussion. I agree about Mahomes though. Wish we had him, among other tools, but that’s not in the script. |
Re: THE CHIEFS WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR.
When you have a dynamic QB, it's always possible. But, their defense is terrible. I believe it's Jackson's year in the AFC. Their defense is legit. 49ers vs. Ravens. I really don't get the Taylor conversation and especially the hate. She's the world's biggest pop star. She's a genuine good person by all accounts. I wouldn't pay to go see her, but to each their own. She's dating arguably the best TE in the league on the reigning NFL Champs. He seems like a genuine good dude. Nothing more than that to me.

Whenever I see Taylor's legs all is forgiven. But my dream ending would be the Lions dethroning the Chiefs.

Re: THE CHIEFS WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR.
NBC let it slip already in an errant post that the SB will have Whiners vs Ravens, FWIW.

Just looking at yesterday's games (specifically the Chiefs/Bills), you have to have a surgeon @ QB who can make all of the critical throws & decisions in crucial moments. Mahomes is that dude. Josh A fumbled and missed open WRs too many times late. But I still think the Raven's defense will be the difference next Sunday. And that guy we passed up (Action Jackson) in the draft for Davenport  will make enough plays & get Baltimore back in the SB. Can't wait. |
Re: THE CHIEFS WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR.
Mark Cuban said many years ago the undoing of the NFL will be caused by pure greed. If any of these game throwing theories are proven true, the fan base would likely rapidly erode. As they say, we shall see.

I can't ignore Cuban's remarks given the NFL's new tendency to simp hard for the gambling whales. |
Re: THE CHIEFS WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR.
You make some great points Sinner and I agree with most of them but the one thing I will guarantee is that I will NEVER be "captivated" by Taylor Swift!!
Anyways, as she is already a billionaire she will probably buy the Chiefs at some point and then give the team to Kelce as a birthday present! Now, there's a storyline for the Disney channel to get their teeth into! Lol!! |
Re: THE CHIEFS WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR.
Its gonna be the Ravens over the 49ers in a close one.

The NBA had their officiating scandal back in 2005-2007 that was exposed by the gambling industry. That only involved a handful of people and they couldn't pull it off. The casinos have a far greater interest in the legitimacy of the games than all of the stakeholders combined. There is a whole industry that was developed by the consortium of gambling entities that does nothing but monitor all sports that are involved in wagering 24/7/365. |

The way any Pyramid Scheme works, is that each individual works in a focused manner, in their respective compartmentalized field, seemingly independent, and innocent enough, yet well coordinated to bring about desired results for the compartments above them. How could they “all be in on it”? Easy. Everyone simply carries out their specific task and follows procedure. You not wanting to believe that that’s how it works, or not understanding it, is exactly what makes it work so well. |

It's this garbage pushed by entertainment, politicians, and educators that has caused more division than ever before in my lifetime. We have never been, nor will we ever be without racism and prejudice but the crap that these loud people with microphones and cameras force on the public is unconscionable.

Re: THE CHIEFS WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR.
That anthem thing - out of sight, out of mind. I don't bother watching until the clock starts running. And during halftime I will "usher" myself out and grab more food and possibly watch the Puppy Bowl. It is sad that so little of Super Bowl feels like something I want to watch anymore. It's like watching Sesame Street just for the Bert and Ernie skits and disregarding the rest.

Re: THE CHIEFS WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR.
Ravens take it all in a blow out.
Red Hot QB/ MVP; Dominant D with 2 of the best LB's in the league right now (Queen & Smith); Best kicker in NFL; Solid coach who runs the team on their strengths and minimizes impact of weaknesses? (Take notes DA); |

Personally I didn't see an issue with it either way. I'd be curious as to what our black friends here on the board feel. The subject has never been broached with my black friends. |

I just don't understand why this country has become so divided on nearly every issue. It's all about pitting us against them to get your group riled up to follow you into action. What happened to the United States as a collective working together? Also I'd really enjoy reading rez's thoughts about the black national anthem. I respect his opinions and would like to see what his views are on this subject. |

How about that Mahomes fella?
|
Re: THE CHIEFS WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR.
Loving the first possession by both teams. Chiefs shutting down the Ravens 3 and out and then driving straight down the field for an opening TD. I never had anything against the Ravens before being in the dome when they came in last year. Their fans were those most obnoxious I have ever seen. From that day on they moved up near the top of my most disliked list.
