Re: Dennis Allen is the NFL's best defensive play caller
I would like to not upgrade as any positions except using the draft picks we have. Any cap money we have should be saved for giving us the option to get out of the Derek Carr deal if he delivers another uneven season or to avoid kicking the can down the road with players like Jordan or Ram if they continue to struggle with age and injury. Every other team in the league has the option to leverage some contracts via restructuring to get out of others. We can't do that if we leverage every contract on our books to get into others.
If Dennis Allen is such a great playcaller, he needs to call some great plays for the players we can afford with league average cap debt. If he can't do that, he is not a great play caller. Call the great players for Bresee and Foskey. Or find someone better in this draft, or a rookie free agency, or a minimum salary free agent. We are broke. |
