This isn't to say lower picks can't be successful, but statistically fewer are. Numbers may show a 2nd rounder has a 1 in 3 chance at being a success. And the numbers may show a 5th rounder has a 1 in 10 chance of being a success. Statistically speaking, that means that one 2nd rounder (1:3 or 33.3%) has a slightly greater chance of being a success than any of three 5th rounders (3:10 or 30%). In this case trading a 2nd rounder for three 5th rounders would statistically lower your chances of obtaining a successful player.![]()
