That would be unfortunate. I'm actually with you that if the Saints do not make progress this season, then Allen needs to be dismissed.

The question becomes what then? My feeling is that we need to swing the pendulum back to offense. Ben McDonald of the Lions would be my likely target. But then the entire defensive staff needs to be revamped. That's going to be tough.

Because the season hasn't started yet. As we've been discussing there are a lot of ifs. If some of them come together it won't come to that.

If the team has a couple of devastating injuries, it might.

You want total and certain domination ending in a championship. This team isn't there. But each season there's always a puncher's chance.
