Carr is not the guy. He tries hard to sound like the guy but it falls flat and he isn't clutch. Hate to admit it but Baker is more of a dawg than Carr.

There are only a small handful of QB's in the league today that can be considered clutch. Being simply average means you are one of the 15-17 best players in the world at your position. It may be another two or three decades before we happen upon another QB that truly meets our expectations.

You won’t see me jump out the window to defend Carr, but the offensive line is more than just an excuse. They’ve been ineffective at both pass protection and run blocking. For a team that wants to run it up the middle we’ve done a poor job of assembling an interior offensive line. I’ve had the new college football game for a while now and the first thing I did was go and recruit as many elite offensive lineman as I could find. It always starts in the trenches for me.

I would agree with all of this. Carr is more of a bridge to a final destination, not the destination. That said, the O-Line now vs. when Drew was our QB is not comparable, and not in a good way.

Drew could make a no-name receiver, a named receiver. Carr will never do that.

I want to see how the team operates under the new offense. I think we have the opportunity to have a solid offense, but how impactful will be seen.

I don't compare Carr to Brees.

"Being Clutch" would be someone who more often than not, makes a play when you need it.

In Carr, I see a QB who struggles to finish drives in the red zone. He's inconsistent, he's full of platitudes that feel hollow and seems to shrink when it counts most.

We don't need Drew Brees, we need more consistent execution.

Let's just see what he does without having to deal with inept playcalling. Carmichael was calling the same crap in 2022 and we only won seven games.
