I don't understand why we where in man coverage on 3rd and 16 but if they did want to run man then double the only receiving threat they had left that already had a career high in yardage. Carr is terrible when he's pressured and it seemed like he was pressured the whole game. I still have confidence but we have to give him more time.

Re: Observations from Saints and Eagles game in the Superdome
My Two Sheckles.
The Good - Special Teams in every phase. Nice punt block helped keep the TO ratio in our favor. - AK41 was a force to be reckoned with (87 yds Rushing/ 40 yds Receiving) - Bryan Bresee is coming into his own (2 sacks/ 2 TFL) and Granderson is stepping up huge (1.5 sacks/ 2 TFL) - Grupe (who was once a serious cause for concern) is solid in the Dome. - D kept Hurts bottled up in the pocket until the end. The Bad - Cam, JJ, Foster, Howden, Shaheed, were all MIA. - LB's looked good on stats, but were invisible when Sqauon got his touches. No WAY he's not covered! - Our DB's looked confused. How do you play the Iggles without AJ Brown and STILL get thrown on for 311 yds? Please fix this and NEVER let us see it again! - Zach Baun. WTAF! He looks like the second coming of Singletary out there! Was he just playing out of position when we had him or what? The Ugly - Dallas Effing Goeddart? Seriously? Did DA and company NOT see him as their go to after Smith got taken out of the game? Matthews should have been all over that in coverage, not roving over the top. - No adjustments at the half? Come on Klint. You saw the problems the middle of our line was having with their DT's. How about sliding the pocket? Create some space somehow and give your receivers a chance! - DA and his love affair with Man Coverage and the 4 Man Rush. Opportunities were missed throughout the game to shut up Ceedy and their Loud Mouthed fanbase to send them packing... QUIETLY...on their planes back to Philly! Personal Rant - I've heard several people suggest that the team was listening to the fickle ass media hype and feeling it. I'm going to suggest that it was the COACHING staff that was smelling themselves going into this game! Lack of preparation, execution, and real-time game adjustments showed in the coaching decisions. (What in the Blue HELL was that defense called that made our DB's look like the Keystone Cops and Goeddart broke for 60+ yards anyway? Even a PREVENT would have been better than that steaming pile of Defense! I mean HELL, did we learn nothing from the Minneapolis Miracle!!!) I hope this serves as 'Lessons Learned' and is never repeated again in 2024! Rant Over |

BTW, I don't care how good your back ups are. When you lose your Center, it's HUGE. Especially facing a ginormous defensive front like Carter and the Iggles.
We had our chances. We just blew it. On to the Failclowns in a must win! |

I have heard and read that "halftime adjustments" do not include material changes to the existing game plan and virtually never includes anything that was not practiced. If something like "sliding the pocket" wasn't a practiced part of the game plan then it or anything else not already in the game plan will be covered in those five minutes or so of available time. Check this out of the "Myth of Halftime Adjustments". |

"Myth" or "Fact", there are coaches who come out of the halftime locker room with a different approach if their first isn't producing. It would have been nice to see some wrinkles to keep the chains moving and provide Carr with a little more time. |

One thing worth noting …
Late in the game I see Trevor Penning blocking a DB well out of bounds, resulting in a penalty. He did the same thing in the Dallas game. That just can’t happen. It’s ok to be a bully from sideline sideline & in the trenches. Gotta play smart football and within the rules. |

Did Saints DE really spit at injured DeVonta Smith?
Does anybody here think that Payton Turner actually spit at or on Smith? I'd suppose that we'd all say no but it didn't look good for him. 🅿️ayton Turner |

Look at the two responses. They both basically said he's full of ****. |
