If we restructure Carr instead, it will make his dead cap in 2026 offseason similar, and we will just face the same decision year after year. Meanwhile Carr is a decent QB who has never won a playoff game, who is like the 40yo Virgin of the NFL playoffs, and we are hoping to sneak into the playoffs with the 40yo Virgin and then have him run the table. Just not a very realistic plan. Better to pick the worst option at QB now for cheap and get a great option later instead of settling for mediocrity forever. |
