Here we are again, with one week left in the NFL season, the long and horrible 2024 season is almost over.

The Saints can't catch, can't protect, can't tackle, and can't do much correctly, lost a not so interesting game in the Superdome to a very bad Raiders team.

Bang your thoughts here and share!!!

Re: Observations from Saints loss to Raiders in the Superdome

As usual, whoever we play, ends up controlling the line of scrimmage.

Rattler made some nice throws and some rookie mistakes. I can't believe too harsh on him though, he's the only one that looked like he's even trying.

The O line showed no pride in trying to protect him, they'd let him get decked and then offer him a hand up. No passion, no fight, nothing.

Defense, they all need to be sent to the old people's home.

Demario has been awful all season, even bits of last year too.

Kool-Aid and Taylor are awful at CB.

D line non existent as usual.

Got blown out at home by the 3 win raiders, Gayle needs to sell the team or fire Loomis, or both.

Well, I can't say I have a lot of positive to say except, if Rattler had a decent offensive line, I think he's a very viable starter in the NFL. Also, happy to see the addition of Clyde Edward-Helaire. That's about all.

We simply cannot expect to develop an identity, beyond joke of the league, by haphazardly jamming incomplete pieces together and doing patchwork on a culture that is not fundamentally sound. We keep changing bandaids on a wound that never heals. The wound is an OWNER who is out of touch with a culture of WINNING PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL. Y’all can move the pawns around however you wish, but if the Queen ain’t on the table, we ain’t winning.

I like Rattler, but he's raw.
Get rid of Loomis and reboot this roster.
Demario is done. So is Honey Badger.
Cam is great but I would lovehim to be our D line coach, not playing.
Move Gay to the Mike and see what the difference is.
Safetys are question marks. I'd like to see what they can do in a different D scheme.
Taylor is a slot defender, not a shut down corner. Kool-aid is servicable.

I didn’t watch the game but saw Miller only had a handful of touches. What he hurt? If he wasn’t, he shouldn’t have a roster spot on this team next season.

So much work to be done this off season. Hopefully we can find the right person to help us build. I hope we don’t spend draft capital this year on a quarterback. We can wait until ‘26 if we’re looking for a franchise quarterback. Build the trenches and better days will come.

Well it was a barn burner. At least we know what we’ve got (or don’t got) come the off season.

Should be interesting.

I almost feel like they’re tanking the last 2 games.

Re: Observations from Saints loss to Raiders in the Superdome

I have only seen the highlights today
Overall its really really bad. There is little cap flexability without doing the same damn thing that hasn't been working for the past 5 years. It leaves me feeling exactly the same as before, blow it up.

I would 100% start with Carr, we don't save anything by cutting him and i don't see the benefit of even giving him a post June cut as they still need to be cap compliant before his cut. So cut him immediatley. There is no upside to Carr at least with Rattler he is young and you can give him the starts and see if he has anything to work with. It won't happen as there isn't a cap benefit to keep him and cutting him and eating the dead money is a really bad look for Loomis. So he will still be here and having him start will probably end up guaranteeing the team 5/6 wins and just blowing a top 5 pick in a season that will be a disater either way.

2026 looks like the time when they will have the ability to start sorting the mess out.
neugey, leilung and Sinner like this.

"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Imagine how painful it is to read what you just wrote, as someone who loudly booed the acquisition of said Raider Curbside Trash from day one, among other things. I got torched on here for four years for “b*tching and moaning” about upper (mis) management, and here we aren’t… again. Not even close to a “rebuild”.

Just reading Nick Underhills latest piece from Mathieu comments. They are not good reading. Pretty said every practise for the last 3 years is at walking pace and it's no wonder players can't tackle and get hurt. It's a pretty brutal assessment and read
