this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I actually don’t give a hoot how much money a coach wants to coach here. It doesn’t affect the cap and it’s not my money being blown. I just want a good coach....

Re: Head Coaching News and Rumors
Gruden might be the only one who can salvage this team.

Re: Head Coaching News and Rumors
Gruden might be the only one who will take the job. Everyone has their preferences but I just want someone that can manage this mess of a roster and put this team on track to winning. Be it Moore, Kafka, Weaver or Gruden. **** I don’t care if it’s a watermelon with a hat on. Just get someone that’ll take care of business.

I guess it could be worse but I’d rather have Gruden

Re: Head Coaching News and Rumors
As painful and inconvenient as reality can be, we often need a dose of it. New Orleans was not the first choice for either Sean Payton or Drew Brees and nothing has changed in the front office since 2006 to change that. One could argue that we are less attractive now with a disengaged owner.
Sean desperately wanted to coach the Giants and when he read that the job went to McCarthy he threw his phone. Loomis did not lure him away from Dallas. Drews first choice was Miami, we did not attract him until his options were limited. Who has Sean openly stated was his mentor? His mentor on a daily basis was Tom Benson and he has stated that publicly. If we want to be a team that attracts talent we need to name a Head Coach that players want to play for above everything else. We need to also stop pretending that Mickey Loomis is anything but a contract manager because in the word of football where things matter on the field he is not on anyone's radar. It is time to ask your roster who they want to play for; if your team wants to play for someone, chances are other teams players want to play for them as well. ![]() |

Re: Head Coaching News and Rumors
You could hire Bill Walsh or Any Reid, wouldn't matter. As long as that fool, Loomis, is in charge you're not winning

Re: Head Coaching News and Rumors
If Chris Olave’s reaction is any indication, Moore would be a popular fit in the locker room. The Saints receiver weighed in on Moore and the idea of potentially getting a coach with experience in the big game. “That’s huge,” said Olave, acknowledging that he’d seen Moore’s name mentioned with other candidates in this cycle. He continued, “Just to have somebody that has reached the Super Bowl and who has a possibility to win it comes in and be the next head coach, that’s huge. I’m excited to see who the next head coach is, I’m going to be a better version of myself to try and help them win.” |
