There's another report a week or so later that Moore took the job with idea Carr would be starting. There is also some other article that the Saints restructured Carr without his permission. If that latter is true, then there could be something brewing on that front, but it doesn't jive with Cooks complimenting Carr and talking to him. As for Ewers, I'm not that against him. If he can do the intermediate routes that's just as important. He can't be worse than the other backups we have. He's grown as a passer over the years. It's also speculated he fits Moore's system. Despite the naysayers, Carr is still sharp and keeps himself active so unless he wants out or is unhappy, he's the starting QB for the next two years. |

They get the same money up front.

It let's the team spread that money into further cap years into the future, lowing the cap hit for this year. Standard Saints practice that drives people crazy because it ties the player to the team longer. It's the "kicking the can" that so infuriates so many fans.![]()
The Saints build that flexibility into all their bigger contracts. BTW welcome back. SFIAH |

Everyone assumes that if Carr was upset the Saints could restructure without his signature that means he wanted to leave the team, but its equally possible he wanted a raise to $50-60mil/yr and a guaranteed money in 2027.
