Carr was much better than you guys gave him credit for. The offensive line during his tenure was offensive. He didn't have playmakers in the offense. He was thrown into an impossible situation where no QB would have won. He got beat over and over by defensive lines. I believe that if he were healthy and put on a talented team, he would win. Most people here don't think that. As you see, he had a good heart as well. Most QBs would nickle and dime the **** out of us, but he didn't feel right doing it. His tenure was unfortunate cause he never had an offense around him and stayed hurt, but I believe he truly cared about how the Saints performed and the outcome of the franchise. He got a raw deal from the fan base, as he was turned into our scapegoat, and still, he did everything he could to help the team.

Carr made himself unlikeable by screaming at players like Olave, for his own mistakes.

He was constantly pointing fingers elsewhere. He gave credit to Dennis Allen for Darren Rizzi's first win, making wildly outlandish plays like throwing a ball randomly up in the air, on 2nd and 10, vs the chiefs for an interception we never recovered from.

Raiders fans pointed out how bad he was in the red zone and coincidentally that was the same here.

By all accounts, Saints reporter are saying that Carr actually asked for a pay rise before the retirement.

Dude basically got an unbelievable contract because the front office didn't properly plan for life after Brees and made the poor decision to hire Dennis Allen.

They overpaid for Carr and instantly made him a team captain. They treated him like Brees 2.0 out of the gate, which was unfair for all involved. DA coached and spoke with overt favoritism toward Carr, which hurt Carr's relations with both his teammates and the fans.

If they would've treated Carr similar to the non-descript way that Dalton was handled, a lot of misfortune and animosity could have been avoided. Instead, Mickey/DA put Carr in a situation where he was destined to be viewed in the worst light as problems arose. Only a special leader like Brees or Brady could've navigated all of this. Carr's not that kind of guy, and his interpersonal shortcomings got amplified.

Remember it was good ole SEAN PAYTON hisself who "Anointed" DA to be his successor. I believe he did everything he could to undermine the franchise who gave him his "Big Break".

Don't forget Payton didn't want to live in New Orleans after seeing what Katrina had left him. He wanted to stay in "BIG D" and commute. Everything he did FOR THE SAINTS left the front office looking backward after he departed and didn't see the cliff he had steered the team toward prior to his "retirement" .
