Omar Jacobs spk... 8) Yes he's a very good, very accurate guy. If we decide to pass on Leinart, I definately would take a strong look at him in the second round... if he makes it there that is. There are lots of solid college quarterback that will be leaving this year. If we pass on Leinart and draft say a Jimmy Williams/Reggie Bush, I won't be that disappointed.

Guys, he was talking about MARCUS Vick, Virginia Tech QB, who is a run first, option-style back.
Marcus Vick is actually more of a typical pocket passer, unlike his brother Mike. He actually said on ESPN that he doesn't want to run and would rather sit back in the pocket. I think he's going to be better than Mike because he is a better passer, but when he NEEDS to, he can take it down and make plays just like his big brother can. But he isn't a run first QB, he's a thrower first.

This is the problem I am having now. I read these threads and see where people are talking about the draft and what we can do next year, and who wil be coaching, etc. People are talking like this is a real, legitimate NFL football team. Somehow, somewhere along the line I have lost that feeling....I don't feel like the Saints are legitimate. I feel like they (the front office and ownership) are frauds. I feel that us discussing future draft plans, free-agency, etc. is ridiculous because the Saints don't do things like normal teams. It has really gotten bad for me to the point that I cannot allow myself to go there, because I know in the long run I am going to be disappointed. It has gotten so bad that I find myself thinking that maybe it would be best if they did leave NO, because then I could forget about them and get on with whatever is left of my life....for 38 years now I feel that I have been a loser because the Saints have been losers all that time. I don't know about the rest of you, but at one time a loss on Sunday would affect me for the next two or three days. After many years of that you realize that this is not good for you...your health. So, over the course of the last two or three years I have come to think of this organization to be illegitimate, or fraudulant, and that has helped me to stop having them break my heart and feel like a loser.

Not a bad point LB, but what do you do?

You are right, we can ***** about AB, the Defense, Deuce's injuries, our LBs, etc. But, it feels futile knowing that the folks above all of them are not capable organizers/leaders. Like, no matter what we do, we will top out at 8-8. The Saints have missed a window over the last 5 years, in my opinion, and it's not all because of one player.

Most winning organizations have a top down setup where the guy at the top is either a winner or knows how to empower winners. Look at Atlanta. I hate them, but Blank knows how to build an organization. There is a big diff between going from a cashier to a CEO at Home Depot and running car dealerships. Blank understands team building, winning dynamics, empowerment, etc. Rich McKay is a top notch GM, we have an accountant. They have put good assistants in place.

Look at us. A car salesman, an accountant, the owner's likeable buddy at DC, and a hot headed LB for a head coach. It's a recipe for mediocrity/failure. We can change the QB, draft an LB, even change coaches......it doesn't change the fact that we have a really bad owner who is either senile/crazy or both. And we already know that he plans to keep it in the family....how could we expect the dude's grandaughter to come in with a new winning mantra? That is unrealistic.

It's sad LB...I know. But....us loyal idiots on this board are just looking for a slice of hope

Week 9 and we're already looking to April. God, that sux.

Sounds like the beginnings of a great joke:

"What do you get when you have a Car Salesman, an accountant and a buddy?"

Punchline...

I was looking forward to April a week after the draft last year. Hard to get excited about a team you have little to no faith in. The Saints never disappoint me, I always know what to expect. That's why I love the draft so much. It's the only time I see the potential for change on this team. Sure our team has drafted poorly in the past, and they appear not to be able to develop anyone, but I always have hope some player is gonna be better than that BS and be a star for us. Deuce almost did it., and outside of the last year and a half, hopefully still can. LeCharles is good. I wouldn't want him to leave that's for sure. Will Smith, Charles Grant. Josh Bullocks. At some point, things will change. And with good young players, it may be an easier transition into a new coach, and new system, once it does.
