a decision looms on Haslett
It’s getting closer to decision time for the Saints. Not only do they have to figure out where they will play their home games in 2006, but the Saints also have to make a decision on who will be their head coach next season.
Jim Haslett’s contract, which reportedly pays him $3 million annually, runs out after next season, and the conventional thinking in the NFL is that you don’t want a lame-duck coach patrolling the sideline. That means Haslett is likely in line for either a contract extension or termination in the offseason. We hear that Haslett and owner Tom Benson discussed a contract extension in January. The two sides couldn’t reach an agreement, and the contract talk was tabled. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW...5/wwhi2020.htm |

Talk of an extension is kinda funny to me. Let's see, we're viewed as the most underachieving team in the league every year (except this one where they are writing off our play because of the hurricance....we have all seen this crap for five years). I'm just imagining the talks "Well, we sucked this year, we've been mediocre every other year, we lose games we're not supposed to lose, we call timeouts on the second play of the game, we get flase starts on 3rd downs and lose tight ends in our secondary routinley....can I get a raise?" |

I think we need to free up his future now and kick his arse to the curb. Why wait, you know he will only win one or two games, just enough to screw up our draft pick and hasn't he screwed up enough already. What no comeback this year Haz, what a lamo.

Haslett is not going to sell any tickets next year. If he stays it tells me the Saints want to make it harder to sell tickets next season, if he goes then maybe they're serious about winning.

I want us to get Ron Rivera. The Saints need a guy that can get a defence to play like that.
