this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I say we trade back and pick this guy up just because he has a cool first name... my last name....

3. DT Rodrique Wright, 6-5 310, Texas This guy has to be the most over-hyped defensive player since Brian Bosworth. After a great sophomore campaign a lot of people thought he was going to be a great defensive tackle, but he was never able to duplicate that effort. Has he under achieved that last 2 years or did he just over achieve as a sophomore? Only time will tell because I am sure some NFL team will draft him from a size/speed/potential perspective, but he just hasn’t gotten the job done. He is currently not ranked in any defensive category in the Big 12, and among defensive lineman alone he is not ranked in the top 24 in tackles. Yes I know, production isn’t everything and he is not a bad player, but I just don’t see what all the fuss is about. I'm not sure we need another underacheiving DT on this Saints team. We've got more than enough in one #97. I would like to see the Saints get Hawk with their first pick and DT/CB/LB....Oh if Demeco Ryans would fall into the second I'd take two backers in a heartbeat. |

The comment was more for BoB that doesn't see the QB as a leadership posistion. But I will retract my comment so that this doesn't become another Thread ending up talking about Brooks.
