If this is true, let me be the first to give a hearty HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA to anyone who said we should draft this guy over Leinart. :D

holy crap. this just proves my theory that young is just an athletic freak and not much more. for his sake, i hope he proves me wrong.

gandhi1007 02-26-2006 08:25 AM

This would only confirm my suspicion that this guy is another Aaron Brooks with a weaker arm & better scrambling ability. :? I bet all those Vince Lover's who hopped on the band wagon after the Rose Bowl are dumbfounded.

TheDeuce 02-26-2006 09:14 AM

6 on the Wonderlic, 840 on the SAT... face it, this guy is just dumb. I've had enough of the dumb athletic QBs on my team.

D_it_up 02-26-2006 10:16 AM

He scored higher on the test with his eyes

CheramieIII 02-26-2006 10:41 AM

It really makes you wonder about the entire educational system today. I took that test and maxed it and didn't even go to college. How in the hell did Young make it through several years of college or even high school for that matter?

This is common place in today's society. You see it in movies all the time, where the entire football team is as dumb as a bunch of rocks in a bag and it's dead on. I will give you the fact that some are very intelligent, but on average not many.

These guys are passed from year to year because of their talent and definitely not brains. They make the schools money and believe me the prof's know that **** and have probably been told to pass them. So with that being said you can't really trust the passing scores any athlete receives, now can you.

In today's society we are all so worried about saying anything that may not be politically correct. I say the hell with that. It's time we all got tired of the bull**** we are being feed and stand up and be counted once again.

Just one man's opinion.

Cherm, I'm with you 100%.

I did go to college and I worked my ass off to try and support myself while attending. Now I'm still about $40,000 in debt from student loans, and the job market sure isn't what it used to be for a computer science degree, although it's picking up right now.

These athletes play a game that I love to watch, but do they deserve a free pass to a college degree? They should be held to the same academic standards as everyone else. If they can't pass the classes, they should go play in the CFL until they are eligible for the draft.

Here's some other scores for you:

B. Griese 39, Aikman 29, S. Young 33, Palmer 26, Culpepper 18, Brady 33, Brooks 17, AMAC 26, Marino 14, Vick 20, Favre 22, and more of them here:

Wow....He even scored a lot lower than I current moron. Oh, but he has all the "physical" skills. Give me a break.

Got it. But sometimes their s##t is right.

LivnaLieTimay 02-26-2006 12:40 PM

Anyone know what Matt Leinart got on the test? If that 6 is true then that is real scary considering Brooks got a 17 on the test (do the math, Brooks tripled Vince's score). Would a 6 be the lowest score ever by an nfl prospect? Leinart in '06!

LongTimeFan 02-26-2006 12:44 PM

Some ppl. love rumors, worst they add to rumors, let's get serious, this is only a rumor, not a fact..
I say let's pick Vince Young and get on with the program.

If you find a reliable source please post it here, then we'll talk about it, what a joke.

Rumor Mill, says it all just in their name.

Let's say that that is just a rumor (which no one knows as of yet). That doesn't change the fact that Young scored an 840 on his SAT which means he's dumber than sh**!! Would you really want a guy that stupid as your playcaller? Not to mention, NFL scouts are beginning to say Jay Cutler could now go ahead of Young in the draft (see NFL combine news).

Draft Young & get on with what program? The same type program we've had with Brooks for the past 6 years? Let's get real. Draft Leinart & end the dumb athletic type lineage of QB's in a Saints uniform!!! 8)

CheramieIII 02-26-2006 01:41 PM

I am waiting on some scores from this year now and will post some of them for you as soon as I receive them. I cannot post the entire list, I promised I wouldn't do that but I will give you the ones you are looking for.

Come on people, if we pick Young we can get real...........real dumb. Sorry but I think anyone that considers themself a Saints fan can agree that the Dumb athletic QB experiment worked out horribly. Seriously AMAC went to FSU and didn't get but two years of school, whether he was a forced pass or not by professors and more than quadroupled this supposed score of Young's who went to school for three years. Even AB more than tripled this 6.

If a QB prospect scores less than 20, I cannot imagine any NFL team taking a flyer and picking him the lead the offense and read a defense. Yeah I went to school and totally laughed at the sample questions from the Wonderlic.

WhoDatQB 02-26-2006 03:49 PM

To all those wanting info on Young's 6 on the Wonderlic

Yes, the original posting came from PFT. However the news is leaking to other sources now.

If that article from tennessean.com is correct and Leinart scored a 35 then there's almost a 30 point difference between Leinart and Young, hahaha. That 35 (if true) would explain the intelligence and smart decision making he exhibits on the field. That's the kind of guy we need leading our team for many years to come.

Newest news (and I can't get the whole article because I'm not "IN" ESPN), has V Young retaking the test and still only getting a 16. The possition average (per "page 2") for QB is 24. So Young on a RETEST still only got a 16 (one less than Brooks), making him 8 points below average. And a 20 score = 100 IQ (Average), so he's not even as smart as the average American?

Yeah I saw that he retook the test and got a 16, still horrible. If he really did get a 6, he could take the test 10 times and do better each time, but it isnt going to erase the 6 he scored the first time around.

BJSim 02-27-2006 03:42 PM

RE: http://blackandgold.net/site/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&

I'll give Young (and the NFL) the benifit of the doubt that the "6" was a mistake of some kind. Still a 16 is just bad. Anyone still want to draft Young as our starting QB?

papz 02-27-2006 03:48 PM

RE: http://blackandgold.net/site/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&

Peter King of Sports Illustrated told the Dan Patrick show that Vince Young was completely unprepared to take the Wonderlic test.
We're not talking about unprepared like he didn't practice. We mean unprepared like he didn't know he was going to take it. If anything gets Young to fire his family friends who are acting as his agents, this is it. Feb. 27 - 4:00 pm et

Stoooopid.

o1higuy 02-27-2006 03:54 PM

Vince couldn't even beat AB on the test.

I took the Wonderlic as part of my interview process for the bank I work at. I had NO IDEA I was going to take it as part of my interview. I aced it easily. The thing isn't hard if you've got a brain, whether you're prepared for it or not. And so he fails a pop quiz that his agents didn't tell him about (or check on the internet to see if what's part of the combine); hows he going to do when the OC changes the game plan in the 20 minute halftime?!?

Oh wait, he'll do as well as Brooks has done.... Poorly. He's just taken himself out of the top five and possibly the top ten.

DJLengai 02-27-2006 05:55 PM

It sounds like we're getting Cutler anyway. Young will be on another team. The Jets look like they will move up and pick Leinart or D'Brick. If the Jets do move up and get Leinart, I hope we pick D'Brick and sign Bentley. While I'm going, how much weight do you guys think is behind Leinart wanting to come to the Saints in hopes the team moves back to California so he can play near home? I know he can't pick himself, but he seemed genuinely interested in coming to the Saints in his combine interview. Additionally, there are 7 types of intelligence. Book smarts is only one type. Rickey Jackson wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed and he did well. Then again, he wasn't a QB. It doesn't really matter because it looks like Cutler is our new QB.

I'm in agreement on that. After I read about the 6 score, I printed out a copy of the Wonderlic sample questions on ESPN's page 2 and gave them to my 5th and 9th grader. 15 questions. 5 minute limit. The 5th grader scored 6 of the 8 that she finished and the 9th grader scored 11 out of the 13 she finished. This was cold with no notice.

It certainly isn't rocket science.

dude there is no excuse for such a low score other then you are below normal intelligence. if you can play the game it really doesn't matter but at qb for some reason it seems like it would matter a lot. i wouldn't be surprised to see the guy either go to the raiders or fall towards the end of the first round. like in the 20's
