Report: Brees looking for $10 million per year
ESPN’s John Clayton reports free agent quarterback Drew Brees is reportedly seeking a contract that will pay him $10 million per year and is firm in those demands. The New Orleans Saints are the closest to meeting Brees' demands. The Miami Dolphins aren't offering as much in guarantees as New Orleans. The Dolphins seem are reluctant to go that with Brees coming off shoulder surgery. As far as his shoulder is concerned, Brees said he has about another four or five months of recovery and doesn't anticipate any long-term effects. Brees tore the labrum and damaged the rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder in the Chargers' final game last season and underwent surgery Jan. 5. Brees went 20-11 the past two seasons for San Diego, but when contract talks with the Chargers stalled, they agreed to let him test the market. http://www.theredzone.org/news/showa...ArticleID=3795 $10mill per year, lol.
