Heya Gang.

I note that we have now signed Drew Brees and Michael Bennett. Damn. That is some fine work. I guess our FO is looking up with the new coaching and all...

Of course, we still need a CB, two DTs, and 2 or 3 LBs. Not to mention an OL (except Brown and maybe Holland).

On the plus side, we can now trade down from the number 2 pick overall, since we won't be fishing for a QB.

On a lighter note, it looks like Howard ended up in Philly anway, and guess who didn't get anything for him... hmmmm... us. Oh well.

Eitherway, it is nice to see some good movement. Finally!

Bennett is a quality backup for a perennially injured Duece. He's got good speed and decent size.

Brees will allow MacPherson another year or two develop, and he is a serviceable to good QB. I'm not sure why you keep saying he's a bust?

Cuz he didn't do anything for the Charger hence first rounder Rivers, yet wit Bennett wut did he ever do with the Viks? I like to keep Stecker and wuts his face from the Titans we got last year....Deuce is healed right and we are ready run wise not passing wise with Brees. And isn't Pearson the guy who lined up under the guard in Preseason? No onew will be better than brooks no one! Not that bum Archie and dang sure not Pees

Good to see you again. When you get a chance, I'd really like your take on the 3-4 thread.

I agree with you that it's so nice to see the FO actually being pro-active. I agree mostly on your takes on positions of need. Sadly, I think we'll need master strokes in the rest of free agency, the draft, unsigned free agency and the june 1 cuts to have a prayer of addressing all of the holes we're facing.

MAng forget Brooks ain't coming back at all I've voiced my opinion and I fought for my boy. Just remeber Pees just now started becoming good. That's all I want is Brooks respect form ya'll and not so much heart felt love for a injured prone QB to get ya'll love so fast that's all. Not For Long =NFL remember it

Don't knw if he gets a bid were he won't get paid much I'd say he should stick with the Raiders as I have read today and then ask for more money next year or the Bucs Chris Simms isn't as mature as I seen him play for one thing

Simms is the new kid on the block,give him a little time and he'll be ok, Brooks had his chances at making it in the NFL and blew it.

not quite he didn't ask the stats in NO if Brooks sucked. Go ahead do it. Simms maybe but he'll never break the plateau like his pops. I don't want AB to go to the Bucs and if he did i'll get scared. Oh with brooks I followed his whole career and even met him on a couple occasions when he played for Virginia, the man has game whether you see or not the reocrd books knw him very well so who cares wut ya'll say he's there immortalized so I'm moving on. So i'm through arguing on a past subject anything else you wanna talk about other than my boy?

Yeah, AB's really got a lot of game. He can throw it AT LEAST twenty yards backwards to Wayne Gandy! That's just talent! He can fumble the ball WHEN NOONE EVEN TOUCHES HIM! That's just talent! He can kill the biggest drive in any game WHENEVER he wants! That's just talent. He can NEVER complete 60% of his passes in one season! That's just talent! Man, why did we not keep this guy? He's awesome!

If Brooks is good why hasn't any team hurry and sign him before some one else takes him?, he hasn't been signed yet even as a backup, wouldn't it be funny if Joey Harrington was to be signed before Brooks, McCown, Ramsey was signed right away, Brooks on the other hand is hoping some one will fly him in to sign on the dotted line.

Ramsey was traded, we couldn't trade Brooks, nobody offered us anything for him, so we cut him, still as of today nobody signed him, see where I'm going with this fat?

He was at the top at some point in his career? I must have missed that somewhere.

So who u taking in Europe?

He was ok for one season and that's it, kind of reminds me of Doug Williams, but Doug was a better QB than Brooks and that's not saying a lot.

If the Saints coulda got even a bag of chips for AB they would have made the trade. Ramsey was worth a 7th round pick and we couldn't get jack for Brooks. He's a hall of fame QB though. :roll:

Now I think that's a bit harsh. Brees has certainly come into his own in the last 2 years. In 2004 and 2005 he has thrown for 51 TDs, only 22 picks, over 6000 yards, and led his team to the playoffs in 2004. Also Brees has had a passing percentage around 65 percent in the last two years.

He has good enough that the Chargers slapped the franchise tag on him last year.


You're not serious are you? Brees has been better than Brooks in the last two years. The Saints defense improved last year. All they really needed was for the offense not to make mistakes. Brooks throwing 17 picks didn't help that cause much.

I've been an advocate for Brooks. I still believe that he wasn't as bad as most fans believe he was. However, Brees is a clear upgrade at the position.
