and that would have been Robinson's third year, which he also posted 1400 receiving yards, and has not broken 1000 since. and that was the year that ferguson was dropped from the starting lineup, in favor of Walker. so don't even try it. :P

very similar receivers.
Not even close. Walker is a deep threat, Robinson is a jump ball receiver.

I think you missed the boat, in Walker's SECOND year as the THIRD option, he equaled Robinson's best TD year EVER. In Walker's THIRD year, he improved in ALL categories and had MORE TDs than Robinson ever had in any season. Walker DID NOT replace Ferguson in his second season, the season in which he had 9 TDs as the THIRD option. So apart from the fact they are both WRs, nothing similar at all. But, we could just rely on HOrn until he's 40.

yes he did- ferguson went down late in the season with an injury, and never took his spot back from walker. i'll give you the speed factor, i believe walker runs a 4.3/40, whereas Robinson runs a 4.5/40, if you'll suck down that ego for a moment and explain to me why i should be excited about a wide receiver that had one good year. :P

So, until Ferguson's injury, Walker was not the starter right? RIGHT?!?!?! lol Leave the BNB semantics out. :P At any rate, Walker is a young receiver who is already playing at a pro bowl level. We have any of those any more? Joe doesn't even fit into that category. He is also a deep threat, but not just cause of his speed, also cause of his size, and you KNOW he can catch the ball if he takes Favre's zingers. He would also instantly become the best receiver on our team. What looks better, Walker, Horn, Stallworth, or Horn, Stallworth, Hakim or Henderson?

Oh, and Walker only started 3 games in his second season. So it's not like Ferguson getting hurt did too much to change the fact he was the third receiver. AND, two of the three starts came within the first 4 games of the season. He didn't start again after week 4, until week 17, last game of the season. So, leave that wacky Robinson comparison out of this convo, and look beyond "he only had one good year." That may have something to do with him getting injured pal. 8)

Now that's funny.

Packers | Team will not trade J. Walker
Tue, 28 Mar 2006 12:11:26 -0800

ESPNews reports the Green Bay Packers will not trade WR Javon Walker.
I'm bringing the rain to this little parade I guess. Speculate away, but keep your BP down everyone. Favre needs someone to throw to.

Um, somebody better tell Denver:

Broncos have assets for dealing
Denver's extra picks could lead to trade for Packers' Walker

ORLANDO, Fla. - Armed with extra draft picks in the first and fourth rounds of the April draft, the Denver Broncos are searching for potential deals.
Two sources in the league said Monday that Broncos coach Mike Shanahan has made informal inquiries about Green Bay Packers receiver Javon Walker. Those discussions have included former Packers coach Mike Sherman, who is now on the Houston Texans staff.

Shanahan could not be reached for comment.

Walker, who publicly has threatened to retire instead of play for the Packers again, is under contract to Green Bay for the 2006 season, during which he is scheduled to count $1,165,000 against the salary cap.

Packers general manager Ted Thompson said he has "received inquiries" about Walker and would listen to any proposed deals. Thompson has not publicly given Walker permission to seek a trade on his own. The fifth-year veteran is coming off surgery to repair the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Walker was injured in the Packers' 2005 opener and underwent surgery in mid-September.

He is unhappy with his contract - he's in the final year of a $6.7 million deal he signed in 2002 - and held out of Green Bay's minicamps last season in search of a new deal. He returned to the team for training camp and was injured against the Detroit Lions.

Walker had 1,382 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in 2004.

I guess somebody better tell Packers GM Ted Thompson too:

Thompson didn't dispute that teams have showed interest in Walker, but he said it stemmed from the receiver's recent public comments and not the Packers shopping him. He would not say whether the Packers would ever consider trading Walker, who sat out of off-season workouts last year in protest of his contract.

So is it okay if we continue discussing getting Walker now?

yes, which is the reason i threw out the Robinson comparison. Lessee, Walker is 6'3" and has had one pro-bowl caliber season.....who else is 6'3" and had a pro-bowl season......oh yeah, Robinson.

as far as him instantly becoming the best receiver on this team, i'll with-hold any further judgement, until i see some type of proof, outside of the saintswhodi stamp of approval.

and look beyond "he only had one good year."
No, I refuse....outside of a handful of these receivers, I don't trust any of them. :P

The waiting drove me mad....
I don't want to hear from those that know...
Everything has changed, absolutely nothing's changed

Eddie is a....draftnik?
