Payton is cutting loose all of those player that we think underachieve and arent worth their contract.
First and foremost is the gentlemen who shall not be named,
then its gandy who has been dragging down the line as well as the above mentioned (not an excuse by the way, just a symptom)
Jacox is gone - someone once said at the end of a busted play or big play for the opposing team there is a guy standing with this hands on his hips - he was talking about jacox
hodge is gone

We have resigned a DT, signed another DT, signed a LB, as well as acquiring at least two DBs so far, i mean this is amazing. we have need help and fresh flesh in these positions for years and now the time is come.

Personally, i want the team to succed as much as anyone else on this board and beyond but hey, at least we are recognizing the problems with our own guys. If we suck, lets suck with guys we didnt know would suck right?


Another thing, there has been ample talk about the decline of our special teams and i think this is due to Randy Mueller's departure. This is not a post clamoring for his return or that he is genius, but one thing you could count on with Randy is that he would draft solidly on the second day and pick up UDFA who could play on special teams. The thing that Loomis or the former Heckuva Ballcoach couldnt seem to grasp that. i think our special teams are lacking talent because our backups are throwaways and not guys who can step in EVER.
