this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; the jets pick is worth 1800 pts... htowns pick is 3000...so they would still have to make up 1200 pts... their first next year is worth 800 so htown might do it for the 4th overall a first next year ...

Both #1(2440),2(550),3(235)= 3225 Just enough pt wise. but bush will cost a bit more, probly at least another 2 or 3 next year.
so both 1s, and 3 this year and a 1 next would do it. 3475 (475 = 11th pick in the second) if the 800 holds, it's value 21st pick, should go higher than that. Odds would be that houston could end up with 2 #1 picks in the top 15 next year. Jets would have a 2, 3, and two 4s left for this year and no #1 next, but their hand is on the bush! |

It would have to be Ricky Williams-esque... they've been pretty tight lipped there in H-town. Good poker face.

NFL Network's Adam Shefter reports there are "legitimate reasons" to believe the Texans will not draft Reggie Bush with the first pick of the NFL Draft.
Shefter cites multiple sources from inside and outside of Reggie Bush's camp that the Texans are more likely to draft Mario Williams or trade down. The Texans haven't approached Bush about a possible contract and key members of the organization didn't meet Bush when he was in town. This could be your typical pre-draft smokescreen, but Shefter was adamant this wasn't the case. Need-wise, it makes plenty of sense. Apr. 17 - 8:10 pm et Time for them to see who's interested... |

If Houston passes on Bush and we get the chance, good lord are we gonna have some calls...I really hope that happens...of course that's about as likely as hearing one of those mayoral candidates actually sound like they had a friggin clue
That pick is so expensive to jump up to, I doubt anyone can make it. I think we taught the world a lesson with our Ricky debacle. But I still think that gives us a better hand than Houston. And yeah, I don't think H-town needs a RB, but could you pass on someone like this? LT only more talented (if that's possible)? |

Good question B&B. You have to think that replacing Martin has to be a priorty this draft. Haven't even thought of that.....but the real question is wether or not the Texans would be WILLING to trade away Reggie Bush.....hmmmm.

hawk won't last past green bay.... if he does he is DEFINITELY not getting past the 49ers who lost peterson and carter this offseason... i still think the best situation is to trade with the jets for #4 and #29 at least... i would also love to see skyler green in black and gold uniform also....
