we keep him. it is all up to him. The war room is dancing
|
tomorrow will be fun. The FO and the agents are talking. NYJ is really thinking now. I wonder if GB is thinking about moving up. SF? Oakland? Bush sale is on 400 pts cheaper! going once going twice sold to who?
|
brooks i don't think the guy is damaged goods by any means. i think the texans will regret this day fora long time. we can afford for him to hold out and it isn't like it is a qb holding out. if we select him i am not mad. if we trade down i am not mad. if we don't trade down and we don't draft him i am upset
|
I was having a pretty alright day, but this...holy crap I am happy. We should take a deep breath, answer all 12 phones ringing off the hook, and start writing down offers. We need to trade for the best deal we can get, which should be a big one. a hold out is just a number waiting to be reached...lots of teams want that kid....wow...the drama begins
|
Hmm let's see:
New York City? Check Marquee name of the draft? Check Jets, we are about to fleece that ass, and still get Hawk. In the words of Glen Quagmire "giggity giggity." |

This is pretty sweet!! |
I don't care who we get out of Brick, Bush, or Hawk I am getting a Texans jeresey......THANKS Mr. McNair for being the biggest dumb*** in the NFL!!!!!!!!!!!

All I can say is YES, YES, YES... :fanclub: :crowd:

Pretty sweet rookie deal for The Immortal Mario Williams. The Saints are more in the driver's seat with this draft than I had ever dared to hope. |
Unbelievable! And the intrigue begins!

great family guy reference whodi. this is a thing of beauty. it is also the worse thing that could happen to me. i just put in for another position at work making some more money. with this happening there is no way i can be blessed twice. bitter sweet

HOUSTON -- The Houston Texans have signed North Carolina State defensive end Mario Williams to a six-year, $54 million deal, making him the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft Saturday.
Of the $54 million, Williams is guaranteed $26.5 million. Texans general manager Charley Casserly had cautioned earlier in the week that anyone concluding the team had decided on Southern California tailback and Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush and was only using Williams as leverage was mistaken. The choice of Williams by the Texans could dramatically alter the landscape of the early segment of the first round. The New Orleans Saints, with the second choice, have indicated they would snap up Bush if he fell to their slot. But the Saints had hinted, in general, that they might entertain trade offers for their pick. The availability of Bush at the No. 2 spot would almost certainly elicit trade offers. Information from The Associated Press and ESPN.com senior NFL writer Len Pasquarelli was used in this report. |
I don't know if its something to cheer about just yet... this forces our hand to either take bush or trade down. Which trading down I am all for but if there aren't any takers at a good market value then we are screwed. We don't need another key componet as much as we need some big bruisers up front to block for key players. But this makes the draft far more interesting than it was 30 min ago...
|
The Texans, are the dumbest bunch of morons on the planet. They are gonna regret this gaffe for the next 7 years at least. Thank God they saved us from making the mistake of choosing this guy. Wow. And they just handed the entire draft to us on a silver platter. THIS is out payment for suffering so long as Saints fans. THIS is our chance to step up, and be noticed in the league for something good now. All eyes are squarely on us, and for the first time, I feel like we will do what's best for the team. I may not sleep tonight.
|
get drunk whodi that will put you out
|
If we can get Javon, this would give us Brees to Javon (not to mention Horn and Dante) and Deuce/Bush splitback...
How can we not be pleased with this |

This post says it all. i agree 100% |
WHAT?
We now have the upper hand, we do what the hell we want to do now, I can't believe the Texans passed on him, dumb on their part, that was totally unnesassary. LOL I won't sleep tonight I just know it... This is huge guys, HUGE !!!! We have to take Bush, you can't pass up on a guy like Bush unless we get a very sweet deal for him which is highly possiable.. |
NO NO NO... no bush-deuce in a split back formation... that is a shot in the foot. Deuce nees a FB blocking for him. Haven't we learned that lesson already.
I think the value of the second pick rose... so we should trade it and get as many players as possible or Deuce could be a goner??? |

We can either get Mangold with the 34 pick or we draft a stellar defensive player as, in my opinion, this draft is defense heavy. The offensive studs are far and in between and Bush is one of them. We can address our other needs at 34. |
