Papz....we gotta get you on the hockey trip. I find it impossible to love football and not love hockey! :bang:

LOL.

JimBone 05-26-2006 12:39 PM

No papz, that was not an insult...I watch a lot of football too...and in the games and highlights that i have seen from the Chargers, it seems to me like all of the Brees highlights were on 15-25 yard passes that his receivers made into a big game...and that is a good thing...its nice to have a QB hit his guy in stride and let him make the most of a play, but i have not seen "many" times where he had a ball that was in the air for 40 yards and the receiver run under it for a long gain....but, i didnt catch many charger games...

and BJ....i made a mistake, no big deal...no need to get your feathers ruffled...and i would hope that you are not implying that i ONLY watch the Saints...i think i know my share of football as a whole, not just the Saints...and congrats on Hockey being your #2 favorite sport...whats your #2 favorite color?

BJSim 05-26-2006 12:51 PM

Jim trust me I don't get my "feathers ruffled" by anything on this board. Just helping papz out, same with the hockey thing.

The implication was yours actually... when you implied papz was a Chargers fan for watching other games. That kind of comment is a slap in the face of any sports fan, to be told that watching another team diminishes thier love of the "home" team.

OH and because you asked... my second favorite color is Orange (Flyers colors) beind the tied Black and Gold of course.

Thankyou BJ... I'm glad you saw what I saw.

Anyways... hockey fans are crazy. I was relocated to Buffalo and Sabres fans are loco. I'll watch a game or two but I just don't know why I can't get into it. Maybe if I understood the rules etc. more than I'd be a bit more interested.

For the record, I AM a Chargers fan. They're my #2 team.

No, i didnt imply that at all...i reserve my saturdays and sundays for football...not just LSU...and not just the Saints...but i would be lying if i said i saw "many" Chargers games...i have seen a handfull and seeing Brees throw the deep ball was something that i must have missed. So I figured he was a Chargers fan since he saw them play a lot. I know in Louisiana, Chargers games arent televised that often...misunderstanding.

I'm almost as high on Brees as the rest of you. Seems he's our answer in perfect health. Great field general, attitude and all that. Throwin' 40 or 80 balls a day....

Don't wanna be the dark cloud in the silver lining here. Call me Chicken Little. I hope I'm wrong. But Brees health and durabilty concerns me.

The long ball is just for show anyway. If you hit it great HOME RUN, but if not it still makes the safeties keep it in the back of their minds and respect the chance. Besides most big long ball gains are not because the QB threw a perfect pass, but rather the receiver made a good adjustment!

Catching slants along with those intermediate routes and making people miss imo is his forte.

I agree, most of his big receptions had alot of ROC yards as i remeber

Brees does not have a cannon for a arm, but he is very accurate and he knows when to throw the ball. Anyway we do not need him to throw it 60 yards, just put it between the numbers and Donte will do the rest
