Cowboys | L. Williams will not be on the team's roster
Mon, 28 Aug 2006 19:48:42 -0700 Rob Phillips, of DallasCowboys.com, reports Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells said CB Lenny Williams will not be on the team's roster for 2006. Lenny Williams Position: Cornerback College: Southern Height: 5-9 Weight: 190 Hometown: Lake Charles, La. Analysis | Agility | High School | Personal OVERVIEW Outstanding pass defender who constantly comes up with the big plays … Has a great blend of speed and leaping ability, resulting in opposing receivers going home with no touchdown receptions in the last two years … Recorded 159 tackles (102 solos) with a 9-yard sack, 13 stops for losses of 37 yards, three fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles, nine interceptions for 120 yards in returns, including a touchdown and 24 pass deflections while returning a blocked punt 82 yards for a score in his final 25 games. ANALYSIS Positives: Has a lean, angular frame, but shows good body tone, a thin waist, long arms, and defined chest and shoulders … Stays tight with the receiver in the deep half of the zone, using his hands effectively to reroute his opponent … Shows a quick burst coming out of his cuts and does a nice job of planting and driving out of his backpedal … Breaks on the ball sharply, competing for it with aggression … Has impressive range, covering ground quickly when beaten … Makes proper body adjustments going up for the ball and strikes low when delivering his tackles. Negatives: Can catch with his hands, but plays the ball a little too much, tending to lose relationship with the receiver working down the sidelines … Allows too much cushion when playing the deep zone, but has the burst to make plays in front of him … Can be fooled by play-action … Reaches back on his heels sometimes when turning in his backpedal, but shows good balance to recover. AGILITY TESTS 4.56 in the 40-yard dash … Bench presses 225 pounds 24 times … 37-inch vertical jump … 10-foot broad jump … 4.26 20-yard shuttle … 12.24 60-yard shuttle … 7.78 three-cone drill. |

Fluid if asked to twist or stunt, makes plays up and down the line and quickly closes to the play. NEGATIVES: Lacks bulk and can be driven off line or handled by opponents. Seahawks | Guerrero waived from team Mon, 28 Aug 2006 18:17:42 -0700 The Seattle Seahawks announced DL Alex Guerrero has been waived from the team.
