The skinny posts are hard to throw. If you don't throw them perfectly, there's a good chance they'll be intercepted. Give Brees a few more weeks and those are touchdowns. Keep in mind that he hasn't been throwing long distance, game-style throws for the whole offseason. I'm not going to defend him like others did for Aaron Brooks, though. One of those was understandable, but not two. He's always been a bit 'unsettled'. He just needs more playing time to get back into the groove.
Other than that, our offense is looking really good. This is the best preseason game perfomance by our team so far. It's a bit unreal that the score is like it is. Oh, and Deuce McAllister just beasted his way to the endzone. To all those that doubted whether he still had it or not, you're in for a suprise this season. |

Well....one was off his receivers hands before it was picked, but the other INT was just plain horrible.

I liked Brooks...I think he had some leadership problems and consistency problems...but a great project for a good quarterback coach. I think he will have a good career..
Brees...I'm not ready to bury him. He has the track record. I'm going to "guess" that Sean has him making the big throws now to stretch the arm. If this was a real game...I think we would be more careful. Even though we gave up the ball on the throws and fumbles...I like the way we marched the field. In the first half we had only one 3-and-out! I know this is a rebuild year but I'm expecting good things. |

I rated it a much better performance than the Dallas game. Two players mistakes corrected and it would have been a game. Brees throws did look off to me. The INTs were bad but some of the incompletions were the same. Mackenzie? WTF? What can you say? And this guy is supposed to be our good DB?? If I was out there and felt so overwhelmed by another player I would go to the DC and say "Coach, I can't cover this guy. I gotta have some help." There were even two other passes where it looked like he was interfering to me and didn't get called.
