as I started reading the many articles this morning quotes about the defense rang out-
-------- Rather, the Saints stunned the Falcons with a swarming, attacking defense that wouldn't let Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick run free. Any chance he had of squirming free was instantly squelched. When he was able to get passes off, they were either deflected or his receivers dropped them. The game was essentially a rout even though the score never indicated as much. -------- On Atlanta’s first possession, the Superdome sounded the way it did in the days of Pat Swilling and Rickey Jackson, when the Saints were famous for their defense. The Falcons ran three plays, then failed to get off a punt. -------- best was from Vick. It might be a fitting name... "I didn't play as well as I could have played," Vick said. "Weathering that storm, it was tough. That was Hurricane Katrina over there." -------- THE KATRINA DEFENSE THE STORM ????? |
