this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; But there is more to football than the emotion of playing for a city and a region devastated by Hurricane Katrina. That emotion can’t last an entire season, as the Saints found out last year. There has to be something ...

I have heard alot of people say that Monday was just emotion. Those people don't know football. Look at the defensive highlights. That was a gameplan that was drawn up and executed to near perfection. The only truly open guy all night was crumpler in the endzone and he dropped it. Hell, Mike even had good coverage on the deep ball lelie caught. It was just one of the 3-4 good passes Vick threw. Steve Young was one of the few guys who got it right. He said forget emotion. These guys played hard and smart. They maintained their lanes on D and protected the ball on offense. Emotion tends to lead to extra mental mistakes and breakdowns. Anyone who has watched the Saints this year knows that's not what is happening. My only complaint right now is we need to get in the endzone more. We're kicking too many field goals. But the D is also forcing more FGs, which is nice. I think the offense is still coming together. And I like where it's headed. Oh, and thanks for the kind words Keyshawn ![]() |
