Are we drunk with the Saints' success?

We're 4-1 and just won a game on the most exciting play in a long while by a guy that is truly living up to the hype.

Why does the board seem slow? I figured that B&G.net would be lit up like a Christmas tree by now.

The Saints are well past the halfway pole of my successful season prediction before week 1. They have guaranteed at least a split with 2 of the 3 division foes and have beaten both of the 4th place teams from last year. With the NFC East looking like worldbeaters one week and the Little Sisters of the Poor the next, it's likely that the Saints can gain a split with that division. That along with the potential to sweep the Bucs and Falcons, getting the Panthers at home, and getting at least one of the three remaining games from the AFC North, and this season is looking quite special.

Someone here made the observation that maybe we are the Detroit Tigers of the NFL this year. No early expectations but staying strong throughout the season and making noise in the playoffs.

Wouldn't that be sweet?

BTW being drunk is just fine with me!

SFIAH

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

RE: Are we drunk with the Saints

It's looking like a special season SFIAH. Payton really seems to know how to work this team. Isn't it amazing what a good coach can do for a team? I mean seriously, when was the last time we had a really really good coach? Payton has come in here and turned a team that was predicted to win no more than 5 or 6 games into a team that is in first place atop the NFC South. Yes we've beaten two patty-cake teams, but we did it on the road. And although our other two games were at home, we beat Atlanta who early in the year had playoffs being tagged with their name, and the Bucs who were in the playoffs last season. All I can say is that this guy is making all the right moves. He brought in the best players for this team, and he is using the guys on his team (although not the most talented in the NFL) to their fullest potential. Kudos again to Sean Payton.

I will chime in as one light on the christmas tree.

I am a long time fan living in the dc area. I read the board once a week or so - post every so often.

It was a sea-saw thriller this week - I am glad RB is getting the saints national attention - at the bar in DC a guy was selling jerseys from the back of his trunk - saw my saints hat and asked me if I wanted to buy an RB jersey.

I asked him how it would help NOLA if I bought it from his trunk. He stuttered. I declined.

None the less - no one was coming up to me in a bar last year and asking if I wanted to buy an AB jsersey.

sorry i was at the Pats game. did more yelling when the Saints scored than the pats. funny thing was i am the only one that wore a Saints jersey to the game. By the end of the game i had MY section cheering for the saints. Meet alot of cool people and converted them over

GO Hagan.....Our missionary in NE...

I also recently converted a lifelong CLowns fan from Cleveland here in La...The Clowns game was even on CBS and he refused to watch it...This guy even went to the last game in Cleveland of the original Browns and was one of the owns that brought a drill to steal seats...He's told me some of the people in his section were bringing in grinders and reciprocating saws...He said the ushers and guards just laughed and said "don't kill anyone"

Hope it never comes to that....if the Saints left I think it would make the Katrina damage look like a tea party

RE: Are we drunk with the Saints

I am HAPPY! How long has it been since any of us can say we were happy with this team?

These guys are a TEAM! Look at how they rallied around Reggie when he got his TD. I will not nit-pick their mistakes...they recover from them is what impresses me!

Coach Peyton,........YOU ARE DOING ONE HELLAVA JOB!

the quality of coaching has been so good thusfar that if continuing at the same rate and even not making the playoffs he will be a strong coach of the year contender.

any lifelong saint fan gets a buzz but not exactly drunk. we have seen to many shoulda-woulda-couldas come and go. the red sox and white sox had to wait several generatios to see a world championship. in the parity laden nfl i think we have waited our turn long enough. it may not be this year but the ship is certainly on the right course now to start off with.

I was drunk with..... 3 dos equis, 4bud tall boys, 2 red stripes, some rasberry stuff(not as good as purple haze), and a couple of mgds when i had lost all sense of taste.

It was a good win. Maybe people just got the Mondays sfiah.

I don't think any of us are taking anything for granted. We got a tough game coming up. If we win Sunday, we will really have it cooking.

Me, too. I was definitely drunk for days after the Falcons. I was ecstatic over the Reggie TD but overall I felt the Tampa Bay game was my hangover. Hopefully I'll be tan, rested, and ready for the Eagles and the Dome and everyone here excited again for another great game and can just try and settle in for a season that we can look back on and remember fondly no matter what the ultimate W-L record is. It's already better than last season!!
