McKenzie....
...I'm am so ready for this guy to be gone next year. Did anyone catch earlier in the game where he came up to lend run support and whiffed on a tackle? He was holding and straightening his face mask with one hand and half-heartedly throwing out his other hand for a brush of the running back as he went right by him. Pathetic. Please Coach Payton, we would like some shut-down corners next year please.

RE: McKenzie....
Well I think that obviously, CB is going to be one of the top 3 priorities in this upcoming offseason. But right now, although our CBs aren't stellar, they're doing enough to help us win. MM has been struggling ever since preseason it seems like, but he's still a playmaker. Don't quit on him just yet. I don't think he's necessarily fit for the #1 CB spot like he used to be, but he's still a solid defender.

Who would you rather have McKenzie or Craft? Not a good thought is it?

McKenzie looks so not fluid this year, looks like he is stumbling over his own feet. So awkward out there, not like previous years... I don't know if he came in this year ready to play or not.

Who I'd rather have back there, Joesam, is mute. I'm basically complaining that a multi-millionaire, veteran player cannot address his position any better than this. I know Coach had ALOT of problems to address when he got here and he's done a wonderful job correcting most of those. That's why he gets a pass by letting CB fly under his radar for this year. But next year I expect more at this position. McKenzie gets NO pass from me because there is no excuse for him to look out of place and behind the receivers most of the time. At least he used to make tackles in run support, now even that is slipping. I guess the overall attitude I have is look at the places we were weakest at on defense and how well they have compensated this year with no-name, modestly-paid players. And then the postion you would EXPECT to be covered ends up being one of the weakest being played by a well-paid veteran that is under-achieving to say the least.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I just feel that we don't have anyone better right now. Lord knows Craft can't do the job. Mike hasn't played up tp his ability,I agree. And yes, we do need to address this next year.

By the way, Joesam, you almost made me choke on my lunch with the thought of replacing McKenzie with Craft. Warn me next time you start to do that!

I think they will try to address the CB issue in the draft again...see who emerges as a cover corner in the college ranks...I have not been paying attention to the scouting reports....any thoughts?....They will obviously bring in at least 12 other DB's in the off season...
