T-R, you're right. Philly has come by their record by whomping inferior teams and losing to a team they were "supposed" to, just like the Saints against Carolina. This may not be a make or break game, but it will be a serious test to see whether this team can maintain focus at home (where we've been lacking the last 5 years) and intensity against a team that has a lot of confidence in itself. This is an eminently winnable game as long as everyone's on the same page.

Who is kick returner anyway and what does he think our record should be? There4-1 be happy they got a great chance to be 10-6 at the end of the season depending on how thing fall and who gets or doesn't get injuryed in the nfl.

But teams like the Bears didn't just appear. Last year they were 11-5. They were the #1 scoring defense in all the NFL last year. They were also in the top 10 in rushing the ball last year. They didn't appear from nowhere. The Saints are a work in progress. You have a completely new coaching staff and 24 players who were not on the squad last year. If you want to see how tough it can be simply take a look at last week's opponent. Tampa won the NFC South with an 11-5 record last year. They have won the Super Bowl this decade. They cannot even buy a game this year. The Saints are going to be shaky and fitful. In several areas we still don't have superior talent. I presume that when upcoming drafts and free agent acquisitions this will change over the next several years. But what we have is a team that doesn't give up and finds ways to win. I was more impressed with the Saints with the loss in Carolina than in the wins. Down 21-10, Saints teams of the past would have conceeded the game. This team plunks an 8 spot on Carolina and are an onsides kick of getting back in the game. Domination isn't instantaneous. You need talent, scheme, and time to get to dominance. SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |
