RE: Re: RE: Re: SIT REGGIE DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I s Reggie not being coached on how to be a running back in the NFL, or is he just not listening. If I hear one more announcer say that "he can't run around the corners like he did in colege", I'm going to scream!! Ricky Williams had the same problem when he first started with the Saints, but he was soon coached and corrected, and he started doing better. Reggie is doing the same thing every week....trying to take everything to the corner. Several replays today showed he had holes up the middle, that he was running too fast out of the gate to even see. Decoy shmeecoy...there's no reason a kid as talented as he is and as fast as he is, can't be taught to slow down and wait for the play to develope.

I think he just needs to learn to be more patient, and let blocks develop, this will come with time. Don't give up on Reggie bush the runningback, he is still a rookie.

Reggie and LT
I was watching the San Diego game and can't help but think that Reggie would make a great Running back in the mold of LT. If he could bulk up about 20 in the offseason and learn to run downhill like LT, I think he'll do just fine. We just need to learn new plays, maybe take some notes from Drew when he used to play with LT and draft up some to ease in this year. Brees just needs to mentor Reggie in the LT mold. I get the impression he already looks upon Colston as a Gates type player. Look how that turned out, eh? Sure, our O-line isn't close to San Diego, I admit that for now, but we are better than we thought preseason. WE are getting better and I think we should just give Reggie 2-3 pllays directly lifted from LT's playbook and just have him watch alot of film and talk to Drew to really get the intangibles down like workouts, prep, etc... We have an untapped resource here, a quarterback who has firsthand knowledge of a man who is very similar in stature and is a good possible role model.
I'm just saying, it's worth looking into. |

Why do we get the jackasses?
...obviously some people don't understand the concept of play-action. When all tthree opposing LB's and a safety stop biting on Reggie leaving the WRs one-on-one to catch them 50-yd TDs, maybe then... lest you notice that every time Reggie runs to the sideline, the whole defense runs with him. |

He hasn't seen the holes for the most part. He's play four year with bouncing to the outside in his system, and that's hard to break. He is trying to hard to break a big one. Hopefully he'll learn to be patience and get the yards he can. If not he'll be nothing more than a reciever. Which isn't bad.

Also Bush is a hell ova reciever let's keep it that way I like to see Bush catch really I do but dammit he's blinder then reality at the table of mediocre QBs convention sitting in Vick's seat, wonders why Vick doesn't want to sit down. He needs to go positive to shut me up no negative. |
