Pass blocking we are doing A to B rated work
Run Blocking is a solid C. Run blocking is harder to refine than pass blocking. done end of story. Bush has to control his instincts. that is hard to do. But one day soon the Defenses around the NFL will have to stop keying on him. Drew is killing them. Defenses are playing us like last year. stop the run and dare the QB to them. well he is. soon my childeren, soon. so relax and have the faith |

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: SIT REGGIE DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't see any reason to sit the guy. Reggie does make for a great decoy. He's also a very good receiver. I don't like the breaking for the sideline stuff every carry, but he needs to be in the game......even if it's only as a decoy/receiver. I just would like to see Deuce get the majority of the running plays. Deuce is a better RB than Reggie right now. Let him carry the brunt of the load. Reggie can still be involved.......just not more often in the running game than Deuce, which is what I've seen lately.

Whoever called the game pretty much said everything that needed to be said about what Reggie's doing wrong out there (for once I enjoyed the commentating). He needs to be more patient and needs to stop bouncing everything outside. This isn't college anymore... he's got to learn to go north and south.

Man, I'd look like crap too if I had 11 people from the other team on me from start to finish.
C'mon, guys. Give the kid a break. Teams are pulling out college films of Reggie and are studying them way ahead of time to learn how to game plan against him. They spend so much time focusing on Reggie that they don't scout the rest of our team adequately. (IE - Colston). Why the hell do you think we're 6-2? Like everyone else said, take Reggie out and I guarantee you our offense gets worse. The running game might get a tad better, but the passing game will decrease in effectiveness dramatically. |

Reggie needs to spend time in the film room and with the scout team on running plays. The boy's gotta learn watching the great runners and then mimmicking them.

If anyone on this team should be mentoring Bush, it should be Deuce. Different running styles, I'll grant you, but Deuce could give the kid some pointers on staying patient, picking a hole, then turning the jets on...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: SIT REGGIE DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...I tell you what... as long as half the defense follows Bush either left or right and leaves Colston or Devery 1-on-1 with a 5'10" DB out there and Brees finds them for 30+ 40+ yd TD's, it is all good with me.
You all talk about coaching, but you forget a small detail: Reggie Bush has never been coached to be a RB. In collge - and most likely H.S. also - he ran on pure instinct and relied on his superior speed and physical ability to run circles around everyone. In the NFL, while he's still faster than most, he's not disciplined enough to do things like wait for a play to develop or cutting rather than reversing, because he never had to do that before.. It is going to take some time for him to learn that. Also, the offensive line is new. We have guys who never played together, just started to play this year, even one guy who played his first NFL game at LT, playing on a new system. Yes they showed that hole that Reggie missed, but those holes aren't there often. Even when Deuce is running the ball, he rarely goes a yard or 2 past the line without getting hit. The o-line play is something that's going to take some time to develop also. |

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: SIT REGGIE DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bush has a huge effect on other teams d's. teams are keying on him and it is opening other things. i would like to see deuce get more touches but i have an opinion that myabe he is still gettig healthy. we got a win and i will take that every time. keep reggie in he opens up the feild and allows for other things to happen. we are 6-2 and bush having minus 5 yards did not hurt the team so why sit him something is working right.
