I think he is a good QB, not elite level, but good nonetheless. Like everybody knows, he plays behind quite possibly the worst offensive line in NFL history. Also, don't underestimate how much it hurts him that Houston has never had a great running attack to take some pressure off of him. I like Carr, but it doesn't make sense to use a pick for him when we have the position covered, and other holes to fill.
Miller is nothing more than a back up but he did fill in nicely for the Rams when their starter went down when he played there. He should get some playing time when the Saints get big leads so I don't see the Saints going after Carr, we have other needs, they can use the last pick for a QB for Payton to groom or a free agent

I'm sure you meant Martin, not Miller, but I seem to remember him getting his clock cleaned on a regular basis, until he was replaced by the Harvard guy. Martin = Bouman. No one is going to convince me otherwise.

Found Martin's stats...He's a hit and miss guy. Had a couple of good seasons. Kind of reminds me of Tolliver, or Bouman.

What's popular is not always right, and what's right is not always popular.....

First off I am a huge Carr fan. It's easy to get down on the guy but I watch a lot of texans games and the guy is a competitor with a great attitude. He would be a nice fit for us as a backup.

I'm not 100% certain but do we not get a 3rd rounder from the Eagles when they sign Donte? Look at it like this, Stallworth for Simoneau and Carr, taken into account that we trade that 3rd rounder and get Carr. That seems pretty good to me.

Now as for Carr not wanting to be a backup? Do U think he'll smell the playoffs anytime soon with Houst? That can serve for some motivation to a player.

I look at Joey Harringtons situation in Det. Carr is in a similar situation playing for a bad team yet he himself has tons of potential, plus I think he is better then Harrington.. I think like Harrington he has been given the reigns of a team for a fair amount of time but is yet to produce the results the team excpects of him. It is time to prove he can handle it in this league as a backup before another team might be willing to hand him the reigns once again.

JENGA....I Win!

The Saints received a fourth round choice with it being a conditional third round choice if Stallworth negotiates and signs a contract with the Eagles prior to free agency.

Carr has never had the OLine that he needs to be a good QB. I truely believe the guy IS a starter but we don't need him. Martin will be fine with our OLine IF something were to happen to Drew. Will he put up the same numbers as Drew??? Of course not, but he will be fine. Defense should be top priority, followed by a great TE.

I would have no issue if the Saints decided to go after Carr. I have nothing bad to say about Martin, but I think Carr would be an upgrade. The Saints were very lucky in that Brees was injury free the entire year. Nothing against Martin, but if Brees would have gotten injured for a stretch, then the season would have probably been lost. With a backup like Carr, it should be less of an issue if Brees goes down. If Carr can be had for a 3rd or 4th round pick, the Saints should do it either way.

I've seen Carr make plays out of thin air since he landed (unluckily) with the Texans. Houston is an idiot for getting rid of Carr and not working on the offensive line. If he does (I hope) land in New Orleans, consider it another gift from the Texans. He's a great quarterback, just needs a team. Perfect example is Frank Gore with the 49ers. He IS the offense. He's got a decent OLine, but let's be honest, he's been a great running back playing for a mediocre team - same with Carr.

Carr gets my guranteed stamp of approval.

The Carr trade sounds good, really good. Its much better than Martin, I either drop Martin and sign Anthony Wright or drop Martin and get Anthony Wright

Carr for a 4th rounder? Hell yeah!!! **** I'd take him for a 3rd...

It's not like we currently have Jake Delhomme as a backup...
