The Saints will still target CB early in the draft regardless of the jason David outcome. Why do you guys think he cant start for us if he started for 3 years with the Colts? he is only 24, has 48 starts under his belt, supports the run well....what makes you guys think he should be a nickel corner? there is no way you can expect a rookie to come in and start at corner and be reliable...not when you are drafting at 27. This move just means the saints can wait until the second or third round to take a CB if they feel there are better players available in the first...i do know that the rumors are true and they do like Eric Wright from UNLV. Stay tuned.

It's all in the reflexes.

Eric Wright seems like the complete opposite type of guy Payton would take, unless all his character issues are really and truly behind him.

I thought the same thing in regards to eric wright. But from what i understand, the team sat down with him for an extended period of time and came to the understanding that the problems he had were 3 years ago, when he was a freshman in college. he has been living in Las Vegas for 3 years and he hasnt gotten into any problems. Its alot easier to defend yourself for making a mistake when you are 18 years old as opposed to making a mistake in the months leading up to the draft when your whole future is on the line.

Sounds like a good pick-up; I just hope they didn't pay too much.
