my thoughts
well the game last night got me thinking of my real expectations.I am a loyal saints fan just like all of you ,and i have the highest of hopes for the team this season.Honestly anything short of a superbowl will be a dissappointment.
But it seemed last year wasnt as great as some make it out to be. Sure we had an awesome offense and a country supporting us through every corner. But honestly what did we do. Barely beat a poor cleveland team, we got man handled by the ravens , steelers, and the bengals. we got swept by carolina. we couldnt lock the division at home against the sorry redskins. we blew a lead with both philly games. other than the dallas, atlanta ,and new york games we didnt really look that great. so im hoping this year we will hold on to big leads, and keep winning the close ones, and close out when we need to close out. i hope reggie gets more rushes, i hope brees plays with that survival instinct he played with last year. and i hope colston starts letting the ball come to him, seems alot of his catches he goes after it instead of letting it come to him. its like hes always coming back for the ball and not moving forward, leaving the defender time to swarm on top of him. but most of all i hope our defense steps up and shuts all the critics up. good luck saints win or lose im with ya all the way |

Re: my thoughts
You're right that the team's record against some quality AFC opponents was abysmal. For me, as great as the Dallas game was, the Pitt game was equally disheartening. However, I think the team showed great drive and resiliency in the GB game when they were on the ropes in the Tundra. And when the lights were brightest (against Dallas) they absolutely blew the 'Boys out. That bodes well for this team.
We as a fan base have to "bury" the past; similar to what the Team did with last season. As they say, "perception is reality" and we need to stop fearing a return to mediocrity. We've got to have faith in our players and coaches and not look for the sky to start falling after a lack-luster performance in the first of five preseason games. An about Colston coming back to the ball: I'm not sure I agree there. You can't give defenders a chance to make a play on the ball. |
