I couldn't find anything, but if Bob posts it, you can pretty much take it to the bank
Besides, I don't think you'll see any surprises with the next cuts. If Stecker or Freddie goes, then we are getting younger and cheaper. If Hollis goes, we are getting leaner and cheaper |

Re: Roster down to 78?
I did hear that Payton promised Palko when he signed that they would be keeping three QB's on the 53 roster this year. So it seems like that position is set. I think Fife will be available for the practice squad as well.

Re: Roster down to 78?
We can keep 8 players on the PS, and I am not sure why we would keep Fife. I don't see any situation where he would EVER play. If Brees and Martin got hurt, we'll bring in Bledsoe, or Bouman, or somone who gets cut next week: Rattay, Frye/Anderson, Wright, Brunell.
No names that inspire optimism, but they all would start before Fife. I know that we can carry 8 players, for a max of 2 years each, but am not sure of the other practice squad rules. Anybody? I assume the guy would need to clear waivers |

Re: Roster down to 78?
Much easier to bring someone in off the practice squad who knows the playbook and have taken reps with the units already. I like Fife, hope we can snag him up onto the practice squad. Martin needs to retire! Fife can make the team next year when Martin retires.
