Why did we bring them in if they're on ST's?
OK,
I went bak and reviewed the play-by-play of the game. Jason David played like crap. McKenzie got burned bad one time. Clark had one huge catch in the middle. Deuce was still being used at the end of the 3rd quarter, but was catching the ball. Stinchomb blocked the heck out of the Colts' LB that loooked like he took out Stinchomb and stopped Reggie. Stinchomb took him out and Reggie hesitated so the guy grabbed his ankle while Stinchomb was laying on him. When we were down by 2 TD's in the 3rd we drove really well and hit Johnson on a 3rd and 9 for a first in Colts' territory, but Stinchomb had a false start which put us at 3rd and 14 and then we got picked...game over. Our Offense will be fine. What I don't understand is why Simmons isn't starting in place of Simoneau? Bullocks sucks. Tebucky Jones sucked. Blah blah blah they're great athletes...who suck. We need to put KK in for Bullocks or maybe even at David's corner spot. If you get burned for two big TD's in man coverage and still look into the backfield on man coverage and get burned for a 3rd...you suck. We need to put people in who can make plays. Get B. Young back in there with Clancy. Put KK in for Bullocks. Put Simmons in for Simoneau. Put Usama in at corner for David. The fact that Simmons is a special teamer is rediculous. Payton is supposed to not be Haslett with his undying love of players. Put the best people in even if it hurts someone's feelings and get the D in line. |

Euph,
I think we need to continue to analyze personnel decisions. I think PapaVoodoo is close to the mark on his analysis. During the game I started doing slow motions on the Colts running plays and Simineou was non existant. Simmons couldn't be worse could he? I'm reserving judgement on David. Dude has been playing in a cover 2 for 4 years. He unfortunately was still playing pass the receiver zone out there. Let's see if he gets better once he realizes that his only job is to lock up with the receiver in front of him. SFIAH |

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |

Re: Why did we bring them in if they're on ST's?
That was cruel flashback.
Someone once posted about how Simoneau gets caught up inside too much so I paid attention to him in this game and it is true. I saw a couple of times a run play to the left that Simoneau headed toward the line of scrimmage only to get blocked in when it was clear the RB was going to have to be chased down at the sideline. The other big problem in the game other than the aforementioned David was the O-line. No protection = no offense. Reggie needs to learn how to read he blockers. One time the O-lineman laid his guy out only for Reggie to be tackled by the guy because Reggie ran right into him. Not good. We also got stopped on a third down play because Reggie decided to dance in front of the first down marker rather than get past it. It was like he was scarred to go across the yellow line! Bad, bad, bad. |

Sounds more like dwelling on week one.
This is more bashing than anything else or analysising a game that has come and gone. Shake it off and move on the the next week. You can't do anything about it now. New team, different players and different strategies this week. All you can do is make adjustments and learn from your mistakes from week to week. For those of you who had your heads up in the clouds thinking we were going to be so much better than last year, you just got a dose of reality check. We aren't that much better. You have to put last week behind you as a team and move on. You have a divisional rival and you concentrate on that, plus it means more than the Colts game does. Lets home we play better. |

I was making a comparison. Tebucky is/was a great athlete with speed, but he sucked. Just becuase Bullocks is fast and more athletic than KK doesn't mean he should start. John Lynch is slow and he's a lot better than Bullocks, Tebucky, and a lot of other safeties.

He should have figured out to at least be looking at Wayne on the 3rd one. That is the sign of a knucklehead.
Simoneau is a back up. Simmons has shown he's a solid MLB and he was playing in the game so injury isn't the reason he's not starting. KK picks balls and Bullocks doesn't. KK can't be worse than Bullocks. He's stunk since we drafted him. Our D needs adjustments to be better so I say adjust it by putting in B. Young, Simmons, KK, and possibly Usama. 3 of those 4 are proven play makers. |

Maybe Simmons and K.K. didn't play or practice well enough during the pre-season to warrant benching established starters? I know they didn't impress me.
