Why not Karney as our Hammer Back???
The guy has run better than all of our tailbacks when he's gotten the ball this year. I say let Ghent or another TE lead block (or maybe find Dudley if he's still around) and let Karney be our Deuce. He catches well and can run up the middle. Let Reggie keep doing his thing and pound it with Karney.

Re: Why not Karney as our Hammer Back???
Papa VooDoo has got the ticket! Establishing the run will make D-lineman stay home...and out of Brees' face. Karney can lead for Reggie, he can pass block, he can catch out of the back field, and has been very successful with the few carries he does get. He has shown that he can do it all. Sean Payton should let the Karney-vore do his thing...bring the pain...let him COMPLIMENT Reggie, and Stecker, and Thomas, and Drew, and Colston, and Moore, and ...

We don't have a bring the pain team. WE are a finess team on Offense and a bend don't break D... not a bruiser type D. |

Re: Why not Karney as our Hammer Back???
Payton should put Karney in the game often. This guy is like a Monster Truck. He can block and run the ball. Reggie needs to start running behind Karney if he wants to be succesful.

Re: Why not Karney as our Hammer Back???
Ever wonder why they call the guy who stands all the way back in the offense a "halfback" and the guy who stands in between two guys is called a "fullback?"
Karney doesn't have the same atheleticism Alstott had back in the day. |

ummmm
well John Carney is a kicker and Mike Karney is a full back but I'm not sure who John Karney is lol I know it was just a typo ![]() it doesn't matter anyway this horse has been beat well beyond death and we all know this will never happen anyway so what difference does it make |

Re: Why not Karney as our Hammer Back???
Well, lets see how the other guys do in the lead roll. I love Karney as a FB, not sure I really want to see him carry the ball 25 times a game. I agree that he should be kept in the game on most plays, as a blocker. At least he is about at the same playing weight, 258, that Deuce was. Come on, you guys really believed Deuce was only 230ish? I would say Deuce was playing closer to the 245 range. Maybe Karney can be an Alstott kind of guy, but I hope not. To me, Alstott was just an average blocker who got a few nice carries here and there. I would rather see Karney become the lead blocker of all time and spring Reggie for a 1600 yard season.
