this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Devery definitely should have been riding the bench with Brown and they should have grabbed Copper and Simoneau with them. Simoneau had a pick thrown at his hands and a fumble he let get stolen from him....

Re: Throwing J. Brown under the bus
Time for Devery to be deactivated. There is no way he is back with the team next season. It's amazing how a team that gets to the NFC Championship game now looks like a team that needs a total rebuild.
I thought the call again Brown was rather lame, but I actually agree with the decision to yank him for a few plays. Payton needs to do this more often, including doing this to Brees when he gets into a funk. |

Sean Payton must be smoking some serious weed. J.Brown was on the sidelines. Refs are against Saints. Calling bad . Who thinks the good players might want out of their contracts next year. Lets get Marty Schottenheimer he a pretty good coach. Our if DeAngelo Hall leaves Atl we should get him.

Re: Throwing J. Brown under the bus
Sean's use, our lack of use of Mike Karney amazes me - no disgusts me. Feels just like it does when Duece only got 8-9 carries. Hmmm...we lost then too. If we never establish a running game, we will never get out of this funk. Brees will continue to struggle until it changes. Attention to detail is the problem. I think that Sean has toooooooooo many details, too many schemes, too many sets, too many pages in his face. He can't seem to see that it is 3rd and 10 and not 2nd and 3. I can't even count the number of completions for less than 5 yards. Two weeks ago I saw Bush lose a yard on a one yard forward pass. Why even waist a good pass play on that. I can't even say whether its Sean's call or if it just ends up that way at the end of Brees' option list. I think we should get back to basics. Football is simple: blocking, tackling, running, kicking, pitch and catch. Toss all of the cheat sheets, line up eleven, everybody take somebody, and go. I hate CUTE football. You end up 0-5 like that. I think Sean is down to a King and a few Pawns - CHECK!
