Jammal Brown

was finally playing like he did last year? Could it be that he is finally healthy? He played better than he has played all year long. I thought the line was improved but I still have some concerns. Nesbit and Stinchcomb continue to worry me with their play. When Seattle started putting 8 and 9 in the box to stop Reggie in the second half, Nesbit's man was just knifing through time and time again to stop Reggie and cause him to lose yardage. Heck, even in the first half, there was a run Reggie had up the middle where he cut back and turned what would have been a loss into like a 12 yard gain. It was Nesbit's man that had bust through. Stinchcomb had a few too many penalties last night and that was not good. He does not seal off the edge like a RT should. Did you notice how Brown was able to seal off the left edge for a change? Part of that was due to the Saints calling inside runs for Reggie, which only opened up the outside for him. There's a novel concept. But Brown was getting his hands quickly on the defender to neutralize him and that was certainly refreshing to see. |

Re: Jammal Brown
Anybody notice how much easier pass blocking is when you can establish a push with the running game? When defenders have to pay attention to the run, their pass rush is delayed enough to allow our linemen to neutralize their charge. The play action worked beautifully, Brees had allllll day. I also liked how Karney lead Bush - gret choice! I hope that continues.
