If you sit there and think about that, that doesn't exactly prove your point of Faine being a fraud... considering Bentley was a Pro Bowl guard/center. And just because he played for a horrible team, doesn't mean he's a horrible player if you were implying that. For example the Rams suck... that doesn't mean Torry Holt sucks.

I have Holt on my fantasy team and he's just not helping me at all, it's not his fault why his numbers are down,, QB injured, RB injured which pretty much killed their running game, they are averaging 11.4 points scored per game, not good if your a Rams fan or if you own Holt own your team as I do, I continue to play Holt each week, you just can't sit down a Torry Holt.

This is my point... you buy dinner and have some good friends in the NFL... you get into the Pro Bowl. I assume we agree on this. I also heard something of the sort on ESPN recently. I don't know if you were just saying the same thing or trying to argue my point but its the same point.

Don't mislead my second point though I feel like Bently deserved based on his actually play. Faine has not. Some players get known by the fans who vote based on numbers and excitment. Some get in because the players don't accept the invite to play in the Pro Bowl so they find someone to fill in.

Re: Jeff Faine

Look, Faine has done well at times and is adequate. If I not mistaken, wasn't Brooks a Pro-Bowl alternate one year? The Pro Bowl is a joke now. A lot of players that get invited, don't even go anymore. Tony Romo went to the Pro Bowl last year after playing like 9 games or something. I believe the fan's vote is partial to the players that get selected.

These arguments get so blown out of proportion. Honestly, would you rather still have Bentley or Faine? That's both being completely healthy of course. To me, it's a no brainer.

if you wanna settle for adequate then I guess you are happy with 2-4. Faine is stinking up the joint this year that if FOR SURE!

Agree BENTLEY, hands down!

Euph, I am sure if the "Agree Bentley" part was a sarcastic remark. I actually agree, no sarcasm involved. There shouldn't even be an argument over this ridiculous comparison. To me, getting rid of Bentley was a bad mistake, but I have to live it. I think most of us can agree that Bentley was better. Last year, I had no problem with Faine...we were winning. No one is playing as well as they did last year except maybe Moore Karney, Weatherford, and Bullocks has improved. That's not saying much.

I am happy with 2-4, but only after we lost the first four. I am disgusted from an overall standpoint.

As far as the Faine/Bentley comparison, I still haven't got answer from my previous question. Which is, did ANYONE ever see Bentley get manhandled like Faine did in the Titans game? I don't think so. Bentley is a far better run blocker and pass blocker than Faine is, hands down.

If the "I with Jeff Faine" club still don't believe me, then wait until the Jags game. Their DT's are the best in football and they'll eat Faine's lunch (if he plays). I hope he can improve and play better as goes for the rest of the team. Brown was looking bad the first couple games and looks to be going a lot better so it can happen. Let's just hope this offense can get their rhythm back and get going.

So you're saying he's talentless and because he has a lot of friends around the league (supposely), which is why he made it to the Pro Bowl last year? That's a whole lot of steak and lobster to buy for 32 teams in this league along with the coaches.

If I not mistaken, wasn't Brooks a Pro-Bowl alternate one year?
You are mistaken... as I was also. He never did make it to one.

Honestly, would you rather still have Bentley or Faine? That's both being completely healthy of course. To me, it's a no brainer.
I don't believe anyone would argue with you there.

Which is, did ANYONE ever see Bentley get manhandled like Faine did in the Titans game? I don't think so.
On numerous occasions. One in particular was when he was playing center and getting manhandled by a 7th round draft pick. It was against the Falcons in the 4th quarter a couple of years back. Absolutely manhandled... I still remember how he was getting pushed around... it was a very embarrassing day.

Bentley is a far better run blocker and pass blocker than Faine is, hands down.
No one would argue with you there. But, he was a far better guard than center... far better.

If the "I with Jeff Faine" club still don't believe me, then wait until the Jags game.
It's not so much the "Jeff Faine fan club", it's the fact he's our starting center and the best we have. It's stupid to think he is completely useless and can't help this ball club win. I didn't like Meachem from day 1, but I'm supporting him. I don't feel the need to rag on him all day long... he is a Saint and a vital part of our future I hope.

Their DT's are the best in football and they'll eat Faine's lunch (if he plays). I hope he can improve and play better as goes for the rest of the team.
Stroud and Henderson are massive tackles and are two the best DT's in the league. It would be hard for any center in this league to contain them.

Brown was looking bad the first couple games and looks to be going a lot better so it can happen. Let's just hope this offense can get their rhythm back and get going
Exactly so why can't Faine do the same? People were calling for Brown to be moved back to right tackle and Stinchcomb to the bench. My have things change. Funny how everyone else is getting the benefit of the doubt yet Faine constantly is made out to be the scapegoat and weak link of our line.

Re: Jeff Faine

Jeff Faine (pectoral) missed practice Wednesday and is not expected to play in Week 8.

Faine tried to play through an injured left pectoral muscle Sunday, but left the game several times before finally calling it quits. The Saints have avoided revealing the exact nature of the injury, but a torn muscle could sideline him for several games. Jonathan Goodwin, who filled in Sunday, would start in his place.

I guess some get their wish.

Re: Jeff Faine

Papz,my friend. You know that there are people on here that no matter who or what happens, they will never be happy with who or what we have. It's just their nature. There are times however, I'd like to see their butts out there trying to do some of the things we ask our players to do. That would be interesting to say the least.

Re: Jeff Faine

I've heard how painful a pectoral injury can be, it's very hard to take deep breaths much less lean over and put weight on one arm and snap the ball with the other.
I hope we get him back soon but that type of an injury can be tricky and can be tweaked very easily..
IMO they'll be OK until they get him bacl on the field.

Re: Jeff Faine

Actually, I think they do select Pro Bowl alternates just in case someone drops out or has surgery or what not. I know it doesn't mean he is a Pro Bowler.

By pointing out Faine's problems as a center this year, doesn't mean I don't think we can upgrade the position. He played well last year, no doubt. It's a "what have you done for me lately" league and Faine really hasn't done much lately. Notice who was one of the guys blocking down field for Pierre when he scored, Goodwin. All I care about is winning and we won 2 in a row and I am thankful for that. I am happy with Thomas playing corner, Mare kicking, the whole team....as long as we keep winning. I don't care how we do it. Doesn't mean that I won't be calling for upgrades in the offseason though.

Now, to say that I or any of you try this game at their level, it's impossible. They are Pros, the best of the best, but some aren't as good as others. It's really pointless to even bring up such a ridiculous statement. We are the best fans in the world, fellas. Might even be the most brutal to our players and coaches. When you expect you team to make the playoffs and go deep into the playoffs and they start out 0-4, then the sh*t hits the fan. I have been optimistic the whole time and I still am, but let's be honest with ourselves, this team has played well below par. We are gradually improving and I think the defense has been outstanding lately. Now if they can hold on until the offense improves, then we'll have something. Right now we are a 2-4 team on the rise and I hope it continues.

I am not a big fan of Faine, never was, along with a few other players on this club. As I am sure some of you feel a certain way about other players. This whole argument started with a Faine/Bentley comparison and I think the majority of us agree, even Euph. Now let's move on and kick some ass out there in fruitcake land.
